Here's something odd...I can create an ISO and burn after adding movies to a DVD project.  But when I try to do the same after adding slide shows, the software simply doesn't want to encode the slide shows.  In effect, movies burn but slide shows don't.  I've updated my firmware and tried the repair feature on EMC9.  Ugh.  Help?

If you are adding that slide show as the introductory movie, you can't.  It needs to be already encoded.  Where are you creating the slide show  -in VideoWave or in MyDVD or in one of the Assistants?  If you are adding it from VideoWave, there may be a problem with the project.  Open the project in VideoWave and select the icon that looks like a film reel (outpost as).  Select mpg2 for DVD and then encode the project.  If there is something wrong with the slide show such as a missing image, a bad music file, a bad transition or transitions timing, the encoding will not complete.  Note the time and go back to the project; see what's going on at that time.  You will usually find something and be able to correct it.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

That didn't solve the problem. However, I did discover something in the process. To get the software to burn at all, I had to purchase a new video card (a GeForce 6200 in my case). That's where my partial-burning issue came up. Then, I updated the driver. Lo and behold, the thing works. Thanks Much.
