I have an HP pc m7330n --windows XP. I followed the directions for buring a DVD (Using Sonic) and all went fine and I was able to play the DVD on my computer DVD-ROM. However, when I tried to play the same dvd on my stand alone player a message on the screen read that there were scratches or stains on the dvd. I made several dvds (pictures) using sony dvd +R and  Verbatim Dvd-R-neither would play on my stand alone player. The DVD I was creating were pictures not a video.

So, I tried making a video DVD using Sonic that was downloaded from a dvd (to my computer). That DVD burned fine and it plays on my computer and the stand alone player.

My husband has an HP laptop --he used the same picture files I did  and made a DVD using Sonic and the same brand of DVDs--they played fine on our stand alone player.

I cannot understand why I cannot play the DVDs I created on my HP PC using SOnic to play on my stand alone, when my husband is using the same dvd-r, same software (Sonic), and same picture files. He tried making the dvd on my computer using the same method with no success of the created dvd playing on my stand alone player.  Is there something I should be doing to allow my computer to create a dvd for the stand alone?
