Hi,
I like MediaTicker a lot. The first thing that struck me though is that it seems I can't get the Large View Mode to work. I am using the latest beta version: 200B56A.
When I click on any image, its source url is opened, instead of MediaTicker's own image browsing feature.
Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Marjolein

Hi Marjolein,
What happens when you try to use Large View Mode?
When clicking on an image that comes from an RSS feed it should open the web page that contains the source of that feed item. This is by design. However, I can see a use for blowing the image up instead. For example, when reading comics (you should check out comics on MediaTicker if you haven't yet -- it's fun!) We'll take this up for discussion for a future version.

To further clarify, if the thumbnail in an RSS feed points to a web page rather than a full size image, or if the image it points to is no larger than the thumbnail, then it will take you directly to the web page.

I was confused by this redirecting to a web page because of the option:
'Download full images in the background for RSS feeds'.
I thought these image were being downloaded to my PC so I didn't expect the web page to appear.
So what is this option for then? I am confused.
Nice product though.

It all depends on the RSS feed. If the RSS feed has hyperlinks that point to the full size image (such as Flickr.com) this option will enable the download of the image in the background. Many RSS feeds simply point to a web page, however, so clicking on the thumbnail will take you to that web page.
RSS feeds out there have different levels of content. An RSS feed can have:
1) Links to web pages.
2) Links to thumbnails.
3) Links to media assets.
Most just have #1. Some have #1 and #2, and some have all three (more and more every month, it seems).
