i have just accuired a lacie dvd burner which came with the awesome Toast 7 softare. i are new to dvd slideshow production on mac, although i have made several basic dvds on my parents pc and i am finding motion pictures to be slightly substandard in the area of dvd slideshow production. does anybody know of any software available that allows you to edit the length of an audio track to fit a certain number of slides (not just play an entire list of songs), and also allow the importation of avi/mpeg video clips to the slideshow? these seem to be common features of pc based slideshow apps, but on a mac you need to invest in professional video editing software to achieve the same results. i'm not trying to make a full on dvd movie, just a simple dvd slidehow with music to start and stop where i want it and the abilty to use some video, captured for my digicamera -nothing to high-tech.
any advice?

I think iMovie will meet your requirements. First, use Toast to export the AVI and MPEG video clips to DV for import to iMovie.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
