I thought I would post this problem here to see if anyone else has this type of issue. I am trying to create a dvd using different formats (avi, mpeg, and non copy protected dvd content). I used MyDvd to start creating the disk. I added the movies, and the first problem I noticed was that the size of the dvd content files being added were not the same as the files themselves (ie one movie file size is .994gb, but when I add to the dvd, its reported as almost half the size). The length of the dvd I'm creating appears to be what it should be. The second problem happens during encoding. When the program begins to encode the dvd content files, it just does nothing, no progress bar or anything; but doesn't seem to hang either. I waited for an hour for it to encode a 24min file and finally canceled the operation.
I tried 3 or 4 times to get it to work, but finally tried using the copy movie program. I selected the compilation option, added the movies and it started to encode them. I can make the dvd using this option, but wanted to use the MyDvd program as it has some cool animated menu options.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Try taking these mixed files into VW and output them as mpeg2 or DV AVI. Then see how they behave in MyDVD…
Of course it should handle them the way they are but this would be a test to see if they behave better after being rendered.
