is it possible to cut short clips from video, 10-20 seconds and save them in a file to be put together in a project later.  I would like to take hight-lite clips from several different sports videos and make a high-lite dvd for my son's team.

You sure can.  Open VideoWave, bring in your video, click on Timeline, and make your splits there.  It will take many different operations like that, but after you delete everything you don't want, save the clip as some name you will remember.  Then start a new production, bring in the original video again, and repeat the procedure.

And if you're running out of hard disk space and don't want to keep all the original footage on your hard drive......

In VideoWave, do a File\ Output production as..... choose Video File and Show All.   Then choose the type of video as the original.    That will give you a new movie with only the portion of the video that you want to save.    You can then delete the original video.
