:)   I am attempting to 'trim' a .AVI video clip that was dropped into the storyboard.  I right click on it, select 'adjust duration', and 'trim' the clip sucessbully it seems.  BUT, when I try to preview the trimmed clip the video is BLACK!  The audio, however, is okay.   What gives?   What I am ultimately trying to do is use smaller portions of a longer clip... i.e.  I have a 30 sec clip.  I want to use a 6 sec portion from the beginning, a 10 sec potion from the middle, and then a 4 sec portion toward the end.  ALL I get is BLACK video!!  Can anyone help me?

Can you preview in the Timeline view?

Try switching to the Timeline View.   Then instead of using Adjust Duration, play the video (or drag the orange bar) to the point you want to have the first 6 sec portion end.   Then right click (or use the icon) and do a 'split'.    Now go to the beginning of the 10 second part and do a split.    You can now delete the portion between the 6 and 10 seconds.   Repeat for the next deletion.

If you cannot preview in the Timeline, then please list your computer specifications so that we can look for a cause and solution.
