Re my previous post on the slowness of dragging the audio when in timeline mode, I went to the Dell website and checked on the available updates for my Dimension 4600.  I noticed that that BIOS A12 was available and it had a date somewhere in mid 2004.  Since I got my machine at the end of 2003, I figured the BIOS update was something I needed.   BTW - my BIOS before the update was A06.  After a very quick download followed by a reboot, I went into Vidwo Wave, clicked on Timeline Mode, and I was instantly able to drag the audio wherever I wanted!  :)

Also, before I updated the BIOS, I added a Gig of memory and replaced my 128 MB Nvidia 5200 with a Radion X1300 256MB AGP card and that took care of the problem I had with my machine totally freezing when I had the medial selector displayed and I tried to scroll down through the multiple lines on my Story Board.  The new memory and graphics card didn't solve the audio dragging problem, which got me thinking that mayeb I should check the Dell website where I found out about the newer BIOS.  Anyway, I'm not sure if credit for fixing the freeze-up problem goes to the added memory or the new graphics card.

I'm glad you posted that solution.  It was a puzzler, that's for sure.  I think it was the first time I saw a Bios update that solved a problem.  That card and added memory will make things go a lot faster.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
