Hi,

I recently purchased a Dell XPS400 w/ a DVD burner that came w/ Roxio MyDVD LE v.6.1.6. I found that dvds burned w/ this software will play in both my shelf dvd player as well as my Xbox 360. Now I wish to combine mpeg files (possibly avi and wmv as well) and add chapters and possibly trim the files so that I can burn a complete movie that will play in the players above. There is an option to upgrade to MyDVD 8 and I am pretty sure that I meet the system requirements, but I am also concerned that if I do add chapters or do other edits that they will not transfer over to the dvd player/Xbox 360. Would somebody please let me know if the edits would be recognized in the players above and if I can combine, trim and add chapters w/ MyDVD 8? I would also like to double check that I have the requisite system requirements to do what I want (below are my specs, the Windows XP MCE is a service pack 2). I also believe that I need DirectX 9.0...I am pretty sure that I have already downloaded this codec, but if not, then I think that I can from the microsoft website. Thanks so much.

V9 is the current product and it is not related to the Sonic software you have now beyond the name.

Yes it can do all you listed and more. Your PC is well within specs for this software. For best results, I would recommend uninstalling the Sonic software before installing V9.

There is no upgrade path to V9 but if you shop around a little you should be able to find it for a decent price.
