Hello:

I have EMC 8 and 7.5 installed on my PC. I don't use EMC 8 except for sound editor module.

For creating DVDs of my slideshow I use EMC 7.5. I like this program.

I have bought EMC 9 and debating if I should uninstall EMC 8 or not. I am sure EMC 9 have all the features that EMC 8 has plus more. If I am unhappy with EMC 9 after installation I will continue to use EMC7.5.

Any advise?

Thanks.

Vinod Mehta :)

It's a personal thing don't you think? I now only have 9 as it does all I need but many others still keep 7.5 or 8 installed as well. 9 is basically 8 with tweaks and enhancements and should do what you need but since I don't know your usage and needs, but you're likely to hear as many opinions as posters.

Some folks have experienced problems with both version 8 and version 9 on their computer. I uninstalled version 8, before I installed version 9.

I am not a big fan of EMC8, but I kept it on my system when installing EMC9. That part went well and I had four versions of Roxio installed at the same time. For me EMC9 is a lot like EMC8 minus the troubles that fills the EMC8 boards. I think the video render engine is much superior to EMC8 and the software is much better behaved on all counts, but especially when closing (Thank you Roxio for hearing my wishes).

After using EMC9 for awhile I was pleased enough to remove and dump EMC8. I wasn't pleased with some of the system error messages I was getting afterward, so what the heck, I just did a complete system reformat and reinstall. Been happy since and I hope, forever after.

My recommendation is to remove EMC8 first, clean up your system and registry, close all non-essential processes/software and install EMC9. Also do not use the default install folder, specify a "Easy Media Creator 9" folder.

I agree I would remove EMC8 also then install EMC9.
