I have over 4 Gig of mp3 files that I want to be able to put on one DVD so that I can play it in my DVD player in my car.

Is this possible? I can put 20 or 30 on a single DVD and play it in my car but can I put several hundred mp3 files on 1 DVD disk and still have it play. I have tried by using both EMC8 as well as Nero and when I create the disk it won't play in the car's DVD.

Thanks,
enak

Have you tried DVD Music Asst. yet? If you have a regular DVD player in your car, it will work. It produces a DVD audio disc. I've personally not tried more than 1.5 GB of music and it does take a while so if you try it, maybe start small and be patient.

What you can do is use Music Disc Creator to make an MP3 disc. This is essentially a data disc with a playlist that allows your player to play it like a cd.If your car player can play DVD's is another question.Since it's a data disc the amount you can fit on a disc is determined by size not time like an Audio disc is.I don't see what the problem should be if you can put 20 or 30 on and it works you should be able to pretty much fill the disc and still have it work.
Try both ways, make an mp3 disc using Music Disc Creator and also try making a plain data disc using Creator Classic and see if either works.

Good idea Paul,I didn't think of that one while I was typing.I would use Music Disc Creator though to make the disc instead of the Assistant. It seems to work better.Depending on what format the disc is made in will determine how many tracks will fit on it (it's a compression thing).Seeings as it's an auto DVD player and a DVD Audio disc by MDC is basically a DVD movie disc with no video I'd think it should work.

Not arguing, just a clarification.
DVD-Music isn't actually an official DVD format, but it has become a commonly used name for a DVD-Video disc that contains primarily music. A DVD-Music disc plays in any standard DVD player with video or still pictures that accompany the audio. As explained in 1.12, a DVD-Audio disc contains special high-fidelity audio tracks that can only be played in DVD-Audio players.

Don't confuse DVD-Audio with DVD-Music (see 1.12.1).
http://www.dvddemyst...vdfaq.html#1.12

I own a JVC-XVFA95 and it does play DVD Audio.

From EMC8 DVD Music Disc Help.

DVD Music Disc
A DVD Music Disc is a special type of DVD-Video that contains music tracks, arranged in menus and track lists. You can play the disc on a set-top DVD player, or on your computer using a software DVD-Video player such as CinePlayer.

You can add Track List menus to navigate through the DVD Music Disc, select from predefined menu styles, and choose background images, track illustrations, and other Smart Objects which provide information about the tracks on the DVD. You can create up to 98 track lists in each project, with up to 97 tracks in each track list.

I have made these and play on my settops with navigation. I don't know if auto dvd players will deal with that.

I tried your suggestion but the DVD player gives an error that the format is not recognized. I was able to create a disk with quite a bit fewer mp3 files but I need to be able to burn many more onto one disk.

When I use DVD Music Disc to create the disk I am told that I can only put on 97 tracks. I would like to be able to put over 200 on a disk. Is this possible?

But I don't know if your auto DVD will play them!

I've made them with somewhere around 400 tracks on a disc so it is possible. As cdanteek reitterated it's just possible that your auto player just doesn't like the format.I find it weird that it will play one with 20 or 30 tracks but not more. When you make them there are 3 different formats you can use,AC-3,MPEG-1 and PCM.They use varying levels of compression and formatting. It might be possible to try the other settings and get it to work, maybe not.Depending on which you use decides how many tracks will fit on a disc.I don't have an auto DVD player so I can't really say they should work one way or the other.I've only made them that will work on my PC and Home player.
