Hey everyone i'm new to the community, i hope i can get some help. So here we go, i have the Toast 7. and i am trying to make a DVD with music videos, but i get an error that says Could not burn disc because of MAC OS ERROR,. RESULT CODE = -18776. So i dont know what i need to do to resolve the problem i have a MacBook Pro, is there any converting that i need to do to the files, the majority are mpeg1, there are a few mpeg2 and avi, and wmv. So i needed to know if there is something i need to do, i normally use Nero which would do everything automatically for me but now that i have a mac i cant use nero, so i'm kinda stuck. Guys i really appreciate ur time and consideration thanks in advance.

okay so now i just updated to 7.1 and now it crashes as soon it starting encoding, it quits and a window opens asking me what i would like to do with the blank disc that has is inserted??? please let me know what i need to do??? please help

It appears that the first file is damaged. The -18776 error appears when there is something wrong with the file and Toast can't multiplex it. If you delete the first file my guess is the others will work fine.

The only way I've been able to fix a damaged MPEG file is to export it to DV and then have Toast re-encode it to MPEG.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Toast can convert the file to DV. Select what you want to convert in the Video window and click the Export button at the bottom of the window.

I believe Toast is crashing when it encounters the damaged part of the file. I can't be sure and I don't know why. It's a hunch.

The window that pops up is the Finder's burn feature. Since you don't want to use the Finder to burn the disc choose Eject. You can get prevent that window from appearing by going to the CDs and DVDs panel in System Preferences and choose Ignore next to what you want to have happen when you insert a blank DVD.
