hello,

i'm trying to register my easy media creator basic edition that i got bundled with my laptop from hp.
i tried the text on the non-label side of the cd is: r52454 hp 376xxx-xxx

please note that the "how do i find my cd key" link is broken, it only takes you to the roxio homepage.

Also the address registration@sonic.com that is on the support homepage bounces:
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

            The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to.  Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.
            <SCLEXC01.ent.sonic.com #5.1.1>

also #2: tried to submit a support ticket by clicking the "not solved button" after asking roxann, after filling everything out and clicking submit I get HTTP 500 Internal Server Error (tried twice)

I think you'll have to contact HP about this problem.  Bundled software is almost always handled by the manufacturer of the system.

Normally you don't register the Basic edition.   As Paul said, support for bundled software usually comes from the computer manufacturer.

I vaguely recall that another user had this problem. She? was doing a custom install and the software kept asking for a CD key - well this was a bundled version and didn't have a CD key.

The problem went away by doing a regular install (ie, it didn't ask for a CD key).

Could this be it?
