  1. Today
  2. Why do you want to upgrade - other than screen recorder? The more recent versions of Creator have been dumbed down. The tech support comes from a group of people who work for Corel so there are no true Roxio experts remaining.
  3. There is no such installation guide and never has been. Yes, then you know the thousands of different software configurations folks install that may cause problems installing any software.

    ROXIO NXT 7 ...Anyone?

If you upgraded, could you provide to us your experience? I am carefully evaluating a $129.99 spend to upgrade from 4 to 7, and, I do not want to buy problems, as I did with my version 4 upgrade.

    ROXIO NXT 7 ...Anyone?

Hello, How does Screen-Cast-O-Matic work relative to your Record Your Screen function/Corel Screen Capture of you Roxio Creator NXT product? I ask because my Record Your Screen function/Corel Screen Capture of my Roxio Creator NXT Pro 4 works great, but only when it works, which is spotty at best. Corel Tech Support cannot tell me what is wrong with this Corel functionality, and, it appears that problems exist through version 7. So, I do not need to upgrade to Roxio Creator NXT Pro 7, only to buy problems. If Screen-Cast-O-matic is a superior alternative then I will divert my hard-earned-money to it. THANK YOU!
  6. Hello, I have used Roxio for over 25 years now, going back to Media Creator. It is the single best piece of software that I have ever owned. Upgrades are painful, excruciatingly so. Problems are 100% to be expected. When we paying customers engage Technical Support, we are barraged with questions, "Did we do this?", "Did we do that?", "Did we do this & that?", "Was this running?, "Was that updated?", etc., etc., etc., as if WE are the root cause of the installation problems of Roxio Creator, most certainly not Roxio, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WRITTEN PUBLICATION OF EXACT & PRECISE INSTRUCTIONS TO FOLLOW in order for a fail-safe installation so that we can proceed to using the software for which we paid our money, rather than fixing it. Are you following me? Yes, I have been around the block, once or twice. I am not a technological novice. I know how "Support" attempts to get rid of us paying customers by NOT providing root cause solutions to problems that were intentionally sold to us, a Testing Department not in existence. BEFORE I PAY MY MONEY TO UPGRADE: What is the link to Roxio's written instructions on the exact & precise instructions for a problem-free installation of Roxio Creator NXT 7 Pro, $129.99? This question is asked because a casual perusal of the Roxio website demonstrates that customers apparently installed Roxio Creator NXT 7 Pro because of their grand ignorance of installation requirements, and not having ESP. Specifically, I have a fully up-to-date Windows 10 OS running Windows Defender. My objective here is for Roxio not to direct blame to ME for the failure of its $129.99 software to install on my computer. ALSO, I am upgrading because Record Your Screen is highly problematic, as the Roxio website will provide testimonials. I want to know how to use it with 100% confidence. In particular, I am sick-and-tired of Record Your Screen indicating that it is working for X number of minutes, only to record 6 seconds. I have a command of the English language, second to none. I articulate things well. I provide proof-positive data on the observations of the failure of the software that I purchase. Tech Support "professionals" are typically incapable of understanding the English language, using any prior "expertise" in what is purportedly their core competency and taking ownership of a "valued" customer's issue. Please, do not pawn me off to a rookie. My goal is to avoid the absolutely miserable installation nightmare that I had upgrading to version 4, which explains why I have waited to upgrade; and, I can wait longer. Thank you.

    Coverting VideoWave to a DVD

Thank you, thank you. It worked. Now if I can only eliminate that annoying Roxio intro on my DVD's as I did on my old Creator NXT version, I would be on happy person. Thanks again for your help. Ed in Florida

    Coverting VideoWave to a DVD

Unfortunately Frank gave you incorrect instructions. nyDVD has been thoroughly castrated and is only a shadow of the "old" versions (pre NXT 5). It no longer accepts the dmsm project file as it did previously. You now have to select the "prepare for DVD authouring" icon on the NXT 6 menu bar. This will allow you to create the mpg file required by myDVD. Once this file has been created, start myDVD and now you can create the DVD. If you still have a Roxio version which allows you to create the DVD directly from Videowave, I would revert to it. Lately every "new" Roxio Creator version seems to be a step backwards

  11. Jim:  You have help me in the past (2012 to be exact). I hope that you can offer some advice.

In December I upgraded to Roxio 6 from a 5 year old NXT version.  I can't figure out the conversion from VideoWave to MyDVD.  I made some VideoWave production in November and MyDVD doesn't recognize them.  I don't see any advantage to having the Roxio 6 version.  Can I uninstalled this new program and install my old Roxio NXT program?   The old version worked better than the Roxio 6.  I have made more than a dozen DVD of old family movies over the past few years.

I retired from PA to FL and now have time to create DVD's of my father's 16mm films that date back to the 40's.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ed in FL

    Coverting VideoWave to a DVD

What have they done to my reliable Roxio Creator???? In December 2018 I bought the Creator 6 and now I having a heck of a time converting VideoWave to a DVD. Last week, REDWAGON sent me instructions but I can't figure out how MyDVD works. As he instructed, I saved the VideoWave dmsm file. I opened the MyDVD program. However, when I open the folder in the MyDVD program where I put the VideoWave, it doesn't appear. Out of the MyDVD program, I can see the VideoWave is there. What am I doing wrong????? I've been using Roxio since 2007 with great success. The last upgrade I previously purchased was Creator NXT probably 5 years ago. I never had any issues and produced a dozen or more DVD's with the older Roxio versions. Thanks for your help. Ed in Florida

    ARRRGH!!! new install fail!

Well all...thanks for trying to help! The user decided that they didn't want to spend any more time on this software and found another DVD authoring SW--which worked and had his DVD ready in no time. So I guess we don't have to worry about trying to make this one work! thanks again.

You bought Small & Medium Business/ Roxio Creator Enterprise software. Since no one here runs that software you need to contact Roxio Small & Medium Business / Roxio Creator Enterprise support. Email or call vlp@roxio.com or 1-877-682-6735 Sales and ask for Enterprise support.

    ARRRGH!!! new install fail!

Something doesn't add up. 1) You did not post the dxdiag.exe file that was requested. As an IT guy, you should know how to do that. That means we don't know if your OS is up to date, if your video and audio drivers are up to date, etc. 2) You didn't explain if you have the special version designed for multiple computer installs (networK) or not. Where and when did you buy the Platinum version? If directly from Roxio and return it. Let us know; we may have other suggestions for you. 3) You did tell us why you bought the entire suite of programs just to get the DVD burning program when that program is available as a stand alone. (Palladium) 4) You didn't say "Reboot and try again.

    ARRRGH!!! new install fail!

lolz I am the IT department. I just am tired of dealing with third party software that should work right out of the box Our computers are WELL over the minimum specs. Our Windows installs are very vanilla, so a conflict, while possible, is not likely. And if this software cant handle Microsoft antivirus...well... The install went fine as far as I could tell (minus the 4.5 gb of stuff it installed...) I installed it as admin(me logged in), and as the user, using my admin credentials -Both I, and the standard user get the same results. DVD creator will not open---everything else will. I tried both the "complete" and "choose what is installed options"--same result--DVD creator wont open

Something doesn't sound right here! Do you have a IT department? Show him the software and ask if consumer based software will run on your " it is a work/business computer " Point him to system requirements.

    ARRRGH!!! new install fail!

So you installed it on your personnel "work/business computer"? Do you have administrative privilages when you installed it on your "work/business computer"?

You need to give us information instead of " (beating head on wall) " So your work PC install is what?

    ARRRGH!!! new install fail!

work PC install. just need it for one use---he needs to create a DVD....that's it. and its the ONLY thing that wont open up...(beating head on wall)

    ARRRGH!!! new install fail!

Are you trying to run this software on a home based PC or on a server? MyDVD video disc authoring requires 64-bit OS, system requirements.

    ARRRGH!!! new install fail!

sounds good. we only use Microsoft system center endpoint for antivirus--and centrally administered--I may not be able to turn it off due to restrictions. All I bought this for was the DVD authoring....I just want to make a very simple DVD...but of all the options in the program work...EXCEPT the dvd maker. I am really annoyed that of all the things that are available, the one thing I need --doesn't... it really shouldn't be this hard

    ARRRGH!!! new install fail!

First, don't do the uninstall and reinstall again unless told to. You have a limited number of installs before you get the install count reset by Corel. Second, turn off your anti-virus and do a repair. of the program. Third, if that doesn't work, post the text file results of a Windows dxdiag.exe. It will tell us about the state of your computer and any errors that might have occurred. There is no personall information except what you call your computer. Be aware that the latest versions of " Create DVD" is nowhere near what it had been in the past-just in case that you expected it to be.
