I haven’t confirmed this for v17, but for a long list of previous versions: you could save a project as a Disk Image file, which would get the .toast extension. If you rename that in Finder to .iso, then you’ll find that is is compatible with many Windows burning software. It won’t make your PC read the Mac file system (HFS/HFS+/APFS), but for DVD-Video (UDF file system) that is not an issue.

Hi Lamberto, Firstly, may I suggest you change your log-in name to something else than your email address. These forums are scanned by all sorts of 'bots which harvest addresses, and I would hate to see yours harvested and sold to someone who will pester you with lots of spam emails. Videowave in NXT 7 claims to deal with .MTS files, and a large number of other formats. Here is the file input area . . . Since I don't have any .MTS files to test with, would you please attach one or two small ones (just a couple of seconds will do) to a reply, so that I can test that Videowave itself is faulty and not just something wrong with your machine? Regards, Brendon

They are still there in Toast 17 - you just have to turn them back on in Preferences. Preferences -> Audio tab -> tick "Show advanced audio mastering settings". - Mike J

Historically, Roxio, and Adaptec before them, did not concern themselves with being backwards compatible, at least with their Creator application. Most releases were not compatible with the prior release build files. The ability to open such files with subsequent versions always fell on deaf ears.

Jaikoz gets data from Musicbrainz, for instance. The same site also has SongKong, which might help out. See: http://www.jthink.net/jaikoz/

The only alternative to Gracenote is FreeDB.org, but I don’t think Toast can be changed to make use of that, but some stand-alone tagger applications may be able to set such. Does it work better if you use Toast’s Media Browser instead of drag-and-drop of the mounted disc through the Finder? That should help getting the information directly from iTunes.

I have been a Mac user since 1984, and a Toast user since Toast 5. I bought the latest and greatest, and it won't open. I have had my iMac checked, deleted and re-installed T17. And now I have contacted Support and will be receiving an email at some point... miss the days of talking to someone helpful right away. Has anyone else had this problem (2015 iMac, High Sierra 10.13.)? Here is the header for the lengthy error readout I get on trying to open Toast 17: Process: Toast Titanium [3746] Path: /Applications/Toast 17 Titanium/Toast Titanium.app/Contents/MacOS/Toast Titanium Identifier: com.roxio.Toast Version: 17 [5379] (17) Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process: ??? If you import your music from iTunes, then the tracks can already have meta data from Gracenote. Stand-alone meta data taggers can consult Gracenote/CDDB to add the information details to the tracks.

Yellow is Video, Red&White are Audio. The Y/R/W leads from the Roxio unit goes into the AV OUT jack of your VCR. Also make sure you have selected the AV OUT on the VCR unit. You could easily check this out by feeding you VCR output into you TV.

Robteg, have you seen this page over on the Corel site? They suggest burning the movie as a data disc.

It wouldn't work if only Creator (the big multi-menu thing) was running. The only way I could get it to work was to run Roxio Burn, so this box was visible down in the bottom right of the screen. Then I had to right-click on the ISO and click the flaming disc option Doing that loaded the ISO into Roxio Burn and I then had to click the flaming disc which appeared on the right end of Roxio Burn. Seems a great way to complicate what had been a relatively simple process in NXT4?

So are the developers going to actually update toast 16 pro so it is 64 bit compatable by the time the next Mac OS rolls out.....which is probably only 6 weeks or so away(July?) Why can’t Roxio tech support themselves just answer with a simple yes/no/we are on to it response to this question? How hard is it for one of them to maybe just ask one of the developers? A bit too hard, much to ask for coupled with/based on my recent non resolved case/ticket support dealings with tech support. Even if they could at least tell customers that “it’s in the pipeline?”...rather than leaving us in limbo like they are doing. J

For the ‘main’ Toast application: Subtitles - unchanged: no support for adding your own Disc format - seems to remember it, but must match content (i.e. DVD-Video remembers DVD or DVD DL, but not other sizes, which I find logical) Menu style - unchanged: defaults to Splash when opening a project file (.disc) For the MyDVD application: Subtitles - no support for adding your own Disc format - reverts to single layer when saved with DL setting Menu style - remembers the theme when opening a project file (.MyDVD)

Sorry for the delay, I saw it then promptly forgot about your post ~ playing the age card here I just tried it in FastFlick as well as VideoWave and do not get any distortion either in playback while in the editors or playing the file I created with the editors. That is of no use to you in resolving your issues... I will ask some of the other gurus to take a look and see if they can help resolve this with you.

Lets start by you taking off your cap locks and type in lower case. Look under Video for a DVD Author application that is what you need to do for it to work on a settop DVD player. Video Easily import photos or video into your PC Create home movies with professional transitions, motion menus and music Burn Video CDs, SVCDs or DVDs Play them back on your home DVD player

This update/download 10 ver. 10.1.226 (Build : 112B62A, R03) does not offer any new features. If your current version is working without problems, I would leave well enough alone! cd

Terrible? This is the worst video editing software I ever bought AND I've had two previous Roxio experiences, neither of which were staisfactory. Go read the reviews on Amazon.com! What they should do is rename it "not responding" or maybe "cannot initiate task". The only thing that would make this viable is an autosave. You can't trust it to do more than a couple of frames with out it either crashing or disappearing. Support will open a ticket but they don't care 'cos they've got your cash. I have lost count of the man hours I have lost to this crock of shite and my Corel Video Studio 9 is just as good if not better and never crashes so NEVER AGAIN Roxio and I would beseech others to save their money and go buy something that works.
