My Roxio Crashes My Windows 8! Help!

I had the same problem on my Windows 7 with Roxio, computer freezes up whenever the Capture screen was up. After getting some help from the official Microsoft message boards, one of the members suggested me to create a new User Account and see if Roxio freezes there since my main User profile is supposedly corrupted. It didn't, and I have done my Roxio recordings over on my other User Account ever since. The link to my Microsoft topic regarding the Roxio freeze: http://answers.micro...da-a52d7bf036af Maybe it could work on your Windows 8 computer too?

Laptop Freezes Upon Inserting Usb Cable

I do, but it's not mine. My laptop has been working fine with Roxio Game Capture since 2012. It had no problems recently until now. *Edit* I tried recording using my other old video capturing device, One Touch Video Game Capture VC500, and it caused my laptop to freeze up too. So it's not just my Roxio being the problem, I assume my laptop isn't accepting recording material.

Yes, it still freezes up unfortunately. I think there's a problem with the GameCAP device..

No, still freezes, even though the GAMECAP device was installed successfully.

Laptop Freezes Upon Inserting Usb Cable

Nothing happens when I plug in the Roxio USB, laptop runs normally, and other USB devices I have don't cause the freeze up problem. I tried re-installing, but that didn't work either. There is also this error that sometimes pop up:
  7. Whenever I plug in the USB cable to my laptop to record, the screen freezes, my cursor disappears and I have to restart my laptop. It happens whenever the USB cable is plugged in and I'm on the Record window.
  8. I tried recording my PS1 game on my PS2 console that I have connected with my Xbox 360/Wii/PS3 and 2 video cable. I hear the audio, but it's not receiving any signals and there's a black screen. Am I doing something wrong?

    Sound Distortion

I did try recording in AVI, but still the same results of sound distortion. Scratch that, I recently recorded a couple of gameplay footage in AVI, and I don't hear any sound distortions in any of them. I'll let you guys know if the problem continues. EDIT: My recent recordings have no sound problems when I record in AVI. Thanks.

    Sound Distortion

Whenever I record gameplay, the sound will sometimes distort and speed up. I adjusted the volume for the Roxio GameCap and even lowered my game volume to help maintain the volume for my recording so it wouldn't mess up. I don't have any programs nor scan softwares running when I run Roxio. I even reinstalled Roxio. The only area I can record gameplay is in my room, where the internet connection is low, but manageable. Previously, I did a game recording with Roxio and it worked just fine without no sound distortions and such, but I forgot how that was set up since I have attempted to record gameplay without any sound distortions so many times. Here are my system specs: Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit (6.1, Build 7601) System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
