  1. @cdanteek Sorry it took so long for me to answer your response. I am now able to see the appdata folder but the file they are looking for "Roxio Creator NXT 3.msi" is NOT there. This has now become a really big problem and happens every time I use any of the Roxio programs. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
  2. I seem to be having a "similar" problem. Roxio Central opens (with and without compatibility fixes) but when I run the DVD or Video programs it tries to do an install looking for additional features and fails when it can't find the msi file in AppData? I think this is a permissions problem but I can't seem to find a way to fix it. Is anyone else having this one? I cannot find an AppData folder for my userid which is why I think it is a permissions problem. BTW, if I just cancel the attempts to re-install, things seem to work "mostly", I have had hangs where nothing works and had to close the program. Restart does the same thing (wants to do a re-install) again. I already did an uninstall and reinstall but I still have the problem.
  3. OK, the last defrag allowed me to burn the ISO file so I am good for this project. I just ordered the NXT3 upgrade so none of this should happen next time! Thanks for your help!
  4. Well, after the defrag (which took about4 hours) I ran a test to see if I could create an ISO file and it worked! However, I had modified the production to exclude the videos since I thought that was the problem. After rebuilding the production to include the videos I got the same error! Now I am defragging again to see if it will work again. Looks like I will be upgrading to NXT in the ear future.
  5. I had a feeling that this was the case (seems that this happens every time I actually need to use this software!) All files (movie and photos are in the same directory on the system drive but it is a 1TB drive so will take awhile to defragment. May have to just bite the bullet and buy the upgrade to NXT. Will keep you posted.
  6. I'm new to this so please bear with me. I'm running Creator 2011 SE on a Sony Vaio Laptop with an i7, 8GB memory and a 1TB hard drive. Windows 8.1 I'm trying to create a DVD that contains a number of photo slideshows and short movies. The creation process goes fine but I get the 8004520c error when I try to burn the disk or create the iso file. What am I doing wrong and how do I fix this?

    Me Too Post

Just wanted to report back that this solution worked like a charm. It took about 2.5 hours to remove and reinstall everything but once it was done, I was able to capture video from my VHS player. Thanks for the help.

    Me Too Post

I'm new to this forum so please bear with me. I have the same problem as described above - Runtime Error. I have the Roxio Creator 2009 Special Edition which came with the Video Capture Adapter. I installed the adapter per the directions. I attach my VHS tape player to the adapter, run the Roxio software, click on the Capture Video icon which opens the Roxio Media import program. So far, so good. The I select the "select a device or source to import from" pull down and select the USB 2861 device. At this point I get the Runtime Error dialog box. The title bar says "Microsoft C++ Runtime Library". The text in the dialog box reads: Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Roxio Cre... This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. The only button in the box is OK and when this is pressed, the dialog box stating that the Roxio Media Capture has stopped working box appears. I then click close program and the program terminates. I am running on a Dell XPS 210 with 2GB Memory and a 250 GB hard drive. VISTA Ultimate SP1 and IE 8. I have downloaded all the updates to Creator 2009. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? I have a closet full of VHS tapes that I need to capture and move to DVD's. Please help

    Reinstall Drag To Disk

I am having the same problem. I have tried using the add/remove function in Add/Remove but after removing and then adding Drag-to-Disk, I still get the same error? Any other suggestions? I have also removed ALL of Roxio and reinstalled base product and update and still get the same error? Frank T.
