    Vista Error

I deinstalled D2D now and got no error after reboot. Since I never used it it does not matter for me.

    Vista Error

BTW: I got the same message (incomp driver) after I installed the MS patches that came out today.I installed EMC in september and never got this message before. I will deinstall D2D and reboot...

    Vista Drivers

Will there really be a EU version, currently I do not know any restrictions. I use an MSDN version but also in the news I did not see any comments on ... oops wait http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/84560 there is one. There will be changes on Internet search, Licensing and also a mediaplayer free version (optional). But anyway please roxio deploy a patch at least for the international version of vista...

    Vista Drivers

User forum? Hmmm - there is a roxio logo on the top, it is listed under support so it should be a support forum moderated by roxio... nobody knew?? If you want to say that the bahaviour of the RTM is different from the actual one (with patches), then this would be true also every month after a MS pathday... would this also be a reason to never deliver patches OK OK we should stopp here but please understand that from my and also many others customers (users) point of view the current situation is a "little bit" frustrating... cheers

There will never be a FINAL version since there is always one bug left... where is the problem to release a new bundle fixing the currently known important issues?

    Vista Drivers

OK - but there were now > 2 month to find out... If there are still problems to fix together with ms or third party then a small statement from roxio would be fine. Currently once again the statement that there will be a fix ASA the first public release of vista is available is defininetly wrong. Again I want to point out that if you promise something you should be able to deliver what you promised...

    Vista Error

As promised many month ago I, sorry WE, are still waiting for the update. Now VISTA is definetly available for ALL users but still no updates. So please roxio give us some updates at least when do you plan to release the update...???

Got it working on Vista RC1 now...

But this was exactly the point to discuss - we got no support from Roxio because it was unsupported in this forum but officially supported through the release notes. Maybe next time I first will visit the support forums to decide if it runs without problems. I only wanted to make this point clear to everybody. A company has to be a little bit more careful with statements and feature descriptions that are in conflict with the reality. I bought V8 only half year ago (also bought Version 6&7) so V9 was (for me) only relevant since the VISTA stuff mentioned. But anyway it now works without any direct support from roxio and if the final is ready in time (together with vista final) I will stay with EMC. Now I think all arguments from both parties are written down and this thread can be closed (I really agree closing it). ciao

EMC 9 installed but crashes when executed

Works also for me using VISTA RC1. Now all components I tested right now (which all crashed before) are running. THX for this "hack". Update: some components (as stated in the release notes) must be updated (in future) to be fully compatible e.g. video editing does not work and also DVD playback seems to crash. But main parts ISO CD emulator, Creator Classic ... are working for me.

Got it working on Vista RC1 now...

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic\Registration\Roxio Easy Media Creator 9] "RemindForNLaunches"=dword:00000005 "RemindAfter"=dword:00000003 "ShowRegistration"=dword:00000000 "ReminderCount"=dword:00000001 "Last"=dword:45035ef3 also works for me THX so all discussions seems to find a happy end
  12. Hi guys, locking the thread about VISTA compatibility (http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=9122) is absolutle not the way I expect a support forum to handle open discussions. I think it was a normal discussion nothing to be closed. The goal I wanted to reach at least is that Roxio/Sonic thinks a little bit more about their release notes before they start selling a product. A lot of nuisances could be avoided if the had not made such statements. Why did they do this? OK that my last posting related to this topic. You can also lock this one or even lock my account does not matter. I think users like me trying to discuss what can be improved, have to look around for other products from other vendors - sounds hard but seems to be the truths. cheers

    Is EMC tested on Vista?

Sorry but from a quality assurance point of view this is not OK. They released a product some days ago so they canNOT know if it is VISTA compatible. It can only be compatible to currently available VISTA Versions (RC1) what they also confirm in the release note (readme.htm). The product that might be compatible in jan is definitly NOT the one you get at the moment. They sentence in the readme stating that they might be some updates is absolutely correct but only if at least the major programs would work. I tried most of them and none worked and that's is defnitly no OK. Also after reading the readme again I saw the title "ReadMe File — June 2006". A readme of june for a product released in September?? Sorry maybe I'm currently a little bit nitpicking since I'm frustrated about roxio leaving their customers out in the rain. Still hoping to get an update within the next month.

    Is EMC tested on Vista?

The problem is when will that final release be? If I now wait for refund more then 30 days I think I will not get the money back and who will promise me that the final version will really work on my system? I think a good option would be to offer a beta (and it should be called a beta not final) working together with VISTA to customers already bought V9 cause at the moment absolut none of the programs work (and not as statet in the readme: "Some components may require an update for full compatibility."). If this "patch" is only installable under VISTA other customers could not damage their system but VISTA users will be happy and might stay with Sonic.
