Glitchy Graphics After 20+ Mins Of Use

if i wanted to record something in 480p i'd use the original roxio device i have lying around, not the HD version my webcam is unplugged, even tried uninstalling xplit and shutting off skype to no avail, its currently glitching out the entire google chrome page as im typing this i also believe that the USB port i am using is a USB-3, but i have also tried a USB-2, looks like if i wanna capture anything im gonna have to drag my laptop down edit: just tried changing all my graphics settings for mediacapturegame1x.exe to allow the fastest performance, still breaks on the same place

Glitchy Graphics After 20+ Mins Of Use

mine would start glitching out at 2-3 mins, then fix itself, then glitch out again, im gonna try and update my USB drivers and see if that'll fix it edit: aparantly i already have it installed and cannot update :S, i have under device manager "Etron USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller" and "Etron USB Extensible Root Hub", "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Controller" and "Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller"

Glitchy Graphics After 20+ Mins Of Use

im suspecting this issue may rely on AMD processors, its the only one i can think of that we all have my Intel powered laptop is fine, but my much more powerful AMD Desktop is freaking out very similarly to yours i have the AMD FX-8350 8 Core at 4.2GHz
  5. On the advice on Jim_Hardin, i have created a new thread this thing used to work perfectly, until a few months ago then it wouldnt read that i plugged anything in, then when i managed to fix it, this basicly happened http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMgE1CCFRU8i t starts 2 mins in, but then clears up at 6:30, but then starts again at 9:26 system specs: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core 4128Mhz Nvidia GTX 660 16GB DDR3 1866 MHz Windows 7 64bit Ultimate it just goes on and off, on a similar timescale no matter what i try, always 2-3 minutes of clear footage it borks up i have tried using two seperate hard drives, both cause this issue, it even happens when im not recording and just on the preview screen, same time difference Also what i have tried is turning off all extra programs, using the Razer game booster, changed multiple Nvidia settings, and so far the only fix is to use another machine, my laptop, which is 1/4 as powerful, with the same programs open. Specs of my Laptop: Windows 7 64bit Ultimate Intel i5 Sandy Bridge 2.9Ghz Dual Core 4GB RAM Nvidia GT550M When opening the recorded files using roxio's own video player, the video starts up fine, then after two minutes, the video speeds up while artifacting and continues to do so, and even skips, whereas if i play it in a normal media player, the video skips with sharp cuts to black, i can get a video example if required Have tried with DVD player and have also tried with nothing surrounding the device, i have quite literally just unplugged it from one machine and plugged it into the other with no issues on the second at all (the laptop)

    Capture/preview Artifacting On One Machine

sorry about the answer, but i was just trying to make it clear that there was nothing wrong with the setup, as is usually the case the issue comes not with using the laptop, but more of time/spontanoius recording, as i would have to grab the lappy from 2 stories up, find a place for it and the power cable, then transfer the footage to the desktop somehow

    Huge Video/audio Lag And Artifacting

ok, new update: as the video goes on, i have noticed that if i play the corrupted video in the default roxio player, the video speeds up for some reason, is my computer just too powerful?

i bought one of these around christmas last year and had that replaced as that was DOA............ i'll report back with my laptop as it has it installed already aswell (wanted to use that as a recording device for my PC to prevent slowdowns) UPDATE: works fine on my laptop :S the USB port on my desktop is on a Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 Motherboard, gonna try changing USB ports

    Huge Video/audio Lag And Artifacting

i can do a 360, but our DVD player is in another room away from the desktop (unless my laptop should be ok, it's above the specs too) and is very finicky to use

    Huge Video/audio Lag And Artifacting

ok, new news i have tried uninstalling/reinstalling using the "correct" methods, updating drivers, changing settings, restoring settings, even it set to 480p has these issues :S one thing i did notice was that my GPU usage would fluctuate like crazy during these glitch moments, afterwards it was stable also turns out if i unplug and re-plug the green cable (component) during a glitchy moment it fixes itself :S like it just resets after it gets "no signal"
  23. longbow1

    Huge Video/audio Lag And Artifacting

nothing has been overclocked to my knowlege (unless factory OC'd) and yeah, even if im not recording it will blip up on the preview screen

    Huge Video/audio Lag And Artifacting

capture screen as well, i could try a driver update as i havn't done so in a while edit: sadly updating my drivers did not work also, by capture screen you did mean the roxio preview screen and not the screen i am using to play with?
  25. Hi There I Recently got the HD capture card, however its not being recieved by my computer, its not showing up in the device manager on two seperate machines, the audio que that tells me if a USB device has been plugged in/out is not playing, and it just says that nothing has been hooked up. I've tried re-installing about 5 times each time without the device hooked up and its just not finding it, the blue light on the top does light up though I have so far tried two seperate machines(both running Windows 7 Ultimate) and both have had the same result of nothing popping up anyone have any ideas?
