  1. P.S. While many older versions of products are not supported, I have never thought that "not supported" means "obsolete".

Leaving aside my annoyance that a program I bought within the last 18 months doesn't work, I was surprised that it wouldn't run even when Windows 8 is set to be compatible with earlier versions of Windows. Of the numerous programs I run, this is the first which won't even open with compatibility settings. In the range of non-business products I buy, this was a costly one. i won't be buying a Corel product again.
  3. The program won't run on Windows 8. It also won't run when Windows 8 is set to run as compatible with earlier versions of Windows. Even if 2011 is not being updated to Windows 8, there is no reason for the program not to run when Windows 8 is set to be compatible with earlier versions.
