    No Video Signal

I bought it in an online Danish computer shop, called Dustin Home. http://www.dustinhome.dk/search/roxio

    No Video Signal

I have disconnected the webcam, but nothing was changed. I have tried connecting the VHS player to the TV with the same cables, and it works excellent. I have also connected a DVD player to the Roxio capture device using the same cables, but then there is no video signal and no sound. I have connected the Roxio capture device to all 6 USB ports in the computer, one by one, and they all showed the same result: No video signal, no sound. Switching between recording quality levels does not help. The Record button is always grayed. However, I have noticed, that the Roxio program interferes with other programs. I installed it on another PC (Windows XP Home), and uninstalled it afterwards as it did not work. Now the Roxio program wants to install something in a genealogy program called Brother's Keeper every time I start that program. I suppose that the Roxio program is interfering with other programs, and that this is the reason for the problems. I thank you all for your help, I appreciate it very much.

    Probably not. What is RGC?

I did uninstall Skype, and I did the repair of Roxio. Unfortunately everything was as before. Here is a copy of my Device Manager (it is in Danish). Shouldn't the Roxio capture device be listed as a Display Adapter ("Billedenheder")? Are there any obvious problems shown? I do not see any, but I am no expert!

Shouldn't the Roxio capture device be listed among the Display Adapters in the Device Manager? It only shows my webcam (which I use for Skype). I also wonder if some set up options are missing in the program, there are just about no alternatives.

I have just tested connecting the video player to the TV, and it is OK using S-video connector or using yellow RCA connector. I noticed, that there is sound also when any of the video cables are disconnected. This is not the case when the signals are connected to the adapter, nothing gets through. I have not tested using scart connector on the video player, because I have no scart adapter. Are the signals different from the signals in the red/white/yellow connectors? Something is blocking the signals, the PC or the adapter.

Today I got a new Roxio capture device and a new CD. Guess what happened? There is no video and no sound. Why? I noticed, that the guide says, that "You must use a SCART Out adaptor to connect to European VHS players". Does this apply, if you use red/white/yellow and S-VHS connectors? My video player is a Panasonic NV-HS870. I am just about to give up.

I tried "repair" of the Roxio software, but nothing changed. I guess the capture device must be faulty.

No. I use the yellow compositie video connector and the white and red audio connectors.

My PC is a HP G5210sc with Windows7 64-bit. I have a problem with a Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 USB capture device: The video signal is not shown. I have disconnected everything except mouse and keyboard, and I have removed all hidden USB ports, but nothing helps. I have asked Roxio's support, but apparently they have no solution. Last time, I did this: 1. Unplugged the Roxio device 2. Turned off the Anti Virus and Windows Firewall, and inserted the Roxio Disc 3. Started installation and selected "repair" 4. Turned Anti Virus and Firewall back on. 5. Rebooted the PC 6. Started the Roxio program 7. Plugged in the Roxio USB device to the computer 8. The driver software was installed 9. The Roxio device was ready for use. Still no video signal. What can I do?
