    Encoding Video Clips

Steve and Jim, Thanks for your help. Editing hi-def is relatively new to me. I'll take your suggestions and experiment a bit. Gary

    Encoding Video Clips

So do you think I should master these files at 60i or 60p?

    Encoding Video Clips

sknis/digital guru, That took care of it! Thanks for the tip. I'd have never thought to even look there. My guess is the reason this is just now coming up as an issue is I jumped from NXT1 right to NXT3. So I jumped right over NXT2 and never saw this happen before. I use these clips to post only on the internet. But I'm very interested in why you think 24p is a "softer" output. I'm saving the AVCHD files as "masters." When I post the files on the net, I post them as 1280 X 720. Thanks again. I really appreciate it. Gary

    Encoding Video Clips

There are all kinds of funky little differences in Creator 3 from earlier versions. And one that is driving me crazy today is something I'd like to ask the forum about. I've produced 8 different 4-minute clips that I'd like to combine into one video that includes all 8 clips as one big file. I've done this hundreds of times before on VideoWave. But for some reason now, on Creator 3, when I choose HOW I want to encode it (I've been choosing AVCHD 1920 X 1080/24p), it's automatically using "Smart Encode." And the end product looks terrible where the transitions between clips are. And FYI, my source clips are all 1920 X 1080 also. Any reason why it would be defaulting to "Smart Encode?" And is there a way to have VideoWave NOT do that? Thanks for any help.

Error Loading Previous Production In Video Wave

A new project DID open. So I'm guessing it had something to do with the way I saved the previous one. Very strange. Thanks for replying.

Error Loading Previous Production In Video Wave

Digital Guru, Nope. It won't open that way either. And it DOES exist. It's a .dmsm file. And there is no error message. It just won't open.
  7. Has anyone else had a problem with Creator NXT 3 not loading a previous production? I clearly saved the production, with my edits, which I have done hundreds of times before on other versions of VideoWave. But when I highlight and click to load that production, it will not load.

    Encoding Issue

I hear what both of you are saying. It's not an external drive connected by USB. All I can say is it doesn't seem to happen since I've stayed C drive to C drive. I'll keep trying. Thanks.

    Encoding Issue

d_deweywright.... I did go ahead and run a scan on my main "C" drive. And you are right, it took awhile. But that probably needed to happen regardless. I have deduced though that my problem was that I have the Roxio editing software on my C drive and I'm saving and storing to another drive. I have lots of video clips stored on multiple drives because I do a lot of editing. Anyway, I truly believe this is what was causing the problem. When I went from "C" drive to "C" drive, no problems. But sure enough, the 2nd video I edited after this scan that went "C" directly to "K," I got the same error. I'm about 90% certain that's what the issue was/is. I really appreciate your suggestions though. It's nice to know there's a forum that can handle questions like mine. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm a long-time Video Wave user.

d_deweywright, I will certainly try that. Thanks for the tip and I'll let you know what happens.

    Encoding Issue

Here is a problem I started having a few weeks ago after using Creator NXT for the past 18 months or so. While going from the edits I've made on Storyline to "Make Movie," all goes fine until I go to play the file BACK. Quite often now at some point during the playback, I get this message: "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file." And the playback stops. It's not just Windows Media Player either. It happens no matter what player I use. And the file is corrupt. What could be causing that? I'm going to AVCHD 1920X1080/24p. The program just started doing this in recent weeks. Any help you can give would be appreciated! I'm a longtime Video Wave user.

    Dvd Production With No Menus

Thanks Digital Guru. I guess I had disabled my "splash screen." So I tried your other method and it worked. I appreciate it. Gary

    Dvd Production With No Menus

I've run into this problem before with Creator NXT and I cannot remember the answer. When "creating" a DVD, how do I disable the menu and just burn the video onto disc with no menu? Thanks for any help you can give.
  14. Thanks. And good call on the e-mail address thing. I don't know what I was thinking. I'll get that changed as a username. For whatever reason, I had MyDVD set to where that particular screen was not popping up.
  15. ...in previous versions of Creator/Video Wave. Does anyone know how to eliminate the menu showing up when you burn a DVD? I'd like for the disc to just start up without a menu. I used to be able to do this and cannot figure a way to do it now. Old age setting in...
