My computer is seriously old and so for me Videowave crashes all the time. Like, almost every three minutes. Then I have to wait forever for it to come back up again and redo anything I lost. I'm a frequent saver and I still loose 10-15 minutes of work because of crashes in videowave! Even when videowave doesn't crash it hangs like nuts. I'll click "Add Photo/Video. " and I'll have to wait a minute or two. I'll choose an image and click ok. I have to wait about 2 minutes. It'll add the picture and I go to drag it around to another position. Crash. Then I have to wait for it to reopen, and then I have to re add the image because of the lack of an auto save feature. Even on my super slow PC the saving takes about 10 seconds, so why the heck is there no auto save?!?
Because of all this lag, the crashes, and no auto save feature for when it does crash, Videowave becomes unbearable for me. That and even if it didn't explode every three minutes, it's still a new program for me. And new programs take time to learn. Even MS Paint needs to be learned the first time someone uses it. But since it crashes all the time, I CAN'T learn it unless I watch a tutorial and just trust that their advice is up-to-date.
So, I prefer Windows Live Movie Maker as it doesn't lag or crash on my PC, and because of that and it's simplicity, I'm used to it and have nothing new to learn. And I don't care what people say. If you know what you're doing, you can actually get some pretty good effects out of it. The only reason I used videowave is because when I loaded the m2ts file into movie maker, the program had to "prepare" it for about 10 minutes. When it finished, I played back the video to see if it did anything to the quality, and sure enough, the video looked tiny and blurry.
So, because videowave came with my roxio gamecap hd pro, I knew it would load the files just fine. Since I had no other video editing software on my windows partion and no antivirus (my Kasperski expired) to let me browse the web and download video editors safely, I dealt with Videowave and ended up trying to do nothing other then add an intro, outro, text, and one other recording. This would've been a simple drag-n-drop process for me in movie maker, but since videowave kept crashing it took me hours. It was three in the morning when I finally got it to the point where it was ready to export.
That's why I prefer movie maker.
As for the solution, dang. That's a bummer.
It's probably just because the sign in form broke cause' of some changes to youtube. That or it just doesn't work with channels linked to google accounts. Either way, that's upsetting.
What are the odds we'll get an update to fix this? Since I just got my roxio yesterday and it's the first Roxio product I've ever used, I don't know how frequent Roxio updates their software. Is it like, every week? Or never again?
