  1. You might want to try creating the back up to your hard drive just to make sure the software can successfully produce a backup so that you can narrow the problem down to being burner related.

     

    Since it's referencing formatting the media, it's likely to be what it's reporting.

     

    You may have other software that burns fine to these discs but different software can some times react differently. Try some other discs.

     

    Some times people get confused about the formatting process of BUMP, you should put new, blank media in the drive to be formatted. You should not use DLA or any other software to pre-format these discs.

     

    If you type your burner model into http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters you can see what other users of the drive recommend in terms of media. You may find that the media you're using disagrees with your burner.

  2. Can not get through a Disaster recovery backup. Get different locations and then will fail with backup software format replace media. Can anyone help. I have updated CD/DVD burner with latest firmware. Removed and re-installed software. Call Dell and they said no problem with DVD burner.
