I went back to the camcorder manual and confirmed the playback settings are correct.
I am going to take a step back and try a new set of cables - placed the order and should be here in a few days.
I am able to hear some muffled low audio from the laptop speakers so there is some connection being made. However, the software still indicates no input signal.
I found an S-video cable around the house and used that to connect my camcorder to the Roxio Video Capture USB with the same results - no input signal indicated.
Will update this thread as my troubleshooting continues - appreciate all the help.
