    Customized Classic Themes!!!!!

Thanks Matt. I am trying to use the "new" version of Toast pro 20 so I can have motion (video) backgrounds. I can do that, but have many other issues with the software that I can't seem to over come.

Initial Thoughts Review on Toast 20

Hey Matt, Good to hear you've had some success with this nightmare of a program. After endless headaches and crashes, I haven't opened it up again for a month or so. I'm curious if you can answer a couple questions I haven't been able to get answers for: First off, when adding a main movie, as you'd expect that movie can play directly from the main menu page. BUT when I add chapters to that main video, it adds a chapter menu that causes the previous "play" button from the main menu to now take you to the chapter menu. So you can no longer play that video directly from the main menu. You go to a chapter menu and can only "play" the movie by selecting a chapter. This obviously can't be right. Most people would never want to go to the chapter page. The only work around I have come up with is to add the movie twice, so one instance plays the movie, and the other goes to the chapter page. I want a very simple menu system. A main menu with "play", "chapters" and "extras" button. Then those buttons take you to the movie, the chapter menu, or the extras menu. I'd love an intro movie to play before the main menu, but they seem to only allow that for DVD's. Although when you test the BluRay it has an "intro" button that only tells you that you don't have an intro video. On top of that, my app crashes each and every time I try to burn or save an image file. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? Thank you.

    M1 and macOS 12 Monterey

Sadly I have had zero luck using Toast 20 Pro. I started before upgrading to Monterey, and had endless problems. Same continues with Monterey. Just crashes endlessly.

Toast 20 Crashes Immediately on startup... Every Single Time!

Unfortunately you have joined an elite group of unhappy customers. While my version of 20 Pro does not crash immediately, it does crash every single time I try to burn, or save an image. It also has myriad other awful issues and glitches. I have been contacting "support" daily for the past two months. I can only hope you have better luck.
  5. I'd be interested in knowing if they tested it at all. The program "looks" like it might be something I'd use. It's missing many features, but the basics are there. But the bugs are horrendous. Mine crashes every single time I try to export. And that's on top of not being able to figure out how to do the simplest of tasks with it to begin with. I'm not happy.
  6. I have tried saving a Bluray disc image about 20 times now. Using the "new and improved" version of Toast 20 Pro. It crashes every #$^@ time at 100 percent. After that the project can no longer be viewed when re-opening. I get an "invalid operation" message when I click on any menu button. So far this has been the worst program I have ever dealt with. Anyone have any answers? Thank you.

Toast 19 Pro Blu-Ray-Authoring crash Toast

Hello all, I am having the same problem with toast 20 Pro. Crashes at 100 percent every time I try to save an image file. I tried your methods, but no luck. Any more suggestions? Thank you
  8. In both classic and new modes you can select disc image on the right from the "destination" drop down. Curiously the intro video option is gone when you select Bluray rather than DVD. I'm very frustrated with the thing, and like you I feel it's not ready for prime time. Not very well thought out, and their user guides are always very limited. My biggest hurdle seems like it should be the easiest thing to do. Main menu with a "play", "chapter" and "bonus feature" button. When you add the first movie it appears on the main menu and you can play it directly from there. You can then add another menu below and then to the right add your bonus features. The thing I cannot figure out is the chapter problem. The minute you create chapters (by hitting the little icon on the bottom right of the video clip) it creates a chapter menu that is inserted in between the main menu and the video. So now instead of being able to click play from the main menu, that play button takes you to the next menu which is the chapter menu. You can no longer play the video without going to a chapter menu. I MUST be doing something wrong, but have no idea what it could be. I can't imagine anyone would want to lose the ability to play the main video from the main menu. We will get no help from Roxio, so we need to hope we can all help each other here.

    Menu advice needed

I'm curious if you (or anyone) has figured out a couple things that still baffle me? I am trying to make a BluRay with one main feature, chapters, and bonus features. I can add the bonus features easy enough, but as soon as I add chapters to the main movie, you can no longer simply play that movie from the main menu. It adds a second menu after the main menu, and that takes you to a chapter page. So you can only play that movie from the chapter page. Any chance you know what I am doing wrong? I wish to have (on the main menu) "play", "chapters" and "Bonus features". Adding chapters removes the ability to play the movie from that main menu. Also, they mention being able to add an intro video to play before the menu. You can do that in classic mode, but then you can't design your own menu. But there still remains a "intro" button when you preview your project, so it seems like it can be done. You might have noticed that even if your file is 4 gigs, it will immediately tell you it's 13 gigs after import. BUT not in classic mode. So this is a screwy program
  10. Sorry to hear you are also going through hell with this program. I bought Toast 20 Pro the day it was released about a month ago. I've had endless issues with it. It appears to have "glitches" that can't be explained. At least they can't be explained by support, which is non-existent. They only send you a link to the vague user guide. I assume you have done this, but you might want to try deleting the plist files in preferences, and then re-install. My other gripes have not been resolved, but crashing has stopped. Initial Thoughts Review on Toast 20

Hey Matt, I am also disturbed by this file size issue. I have a 12 gig movie, but it shows it as 25 gigs. I compressed the movie to 4 gigs, and it still shows as 25, so it must be basing it on the length of the movie. In classic you can change the bit rate, but it shows the correct file size anyway. But you can't create custom menus. Incredibly, in the new mode, if I delete the menu, it shows the correct file size for the video. Adding a menu makes it jump back to 25 gigs. I've had zero help from Corel/Roxio. They continue to send me to the user guide, which covers none of this.

NEW: Toast 20 & Toast 20 PRO available

Hey folks, I have posted this stuff on the Toast 20 Pro forum, but thought I'd try here as well. I have many problems with the software, but one main thing is driving me absolutely crazy. I want one movie to have a play button on the main menu page. This movie will have chapters. If I just add the movie it will play directly from the main menu, but as soon as I add chapters it no longer plays the movie.Instead it takes me to a chapter menu for the movie. This can't be right. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Also if ANYONE knows how to add an intro video that plays before the main menu, that would be awesome too. Thank you!

Initial Thoughts Review on Toast 20

Hey Matt, My rantings have been far too long-winded. Hoping for an answer to what seems like an easy question, but maybe with this software there are no easy questions. Have you figured out how to create chapters for a single video, but still being able to play the video directly from the main menu page? Whenever I add chapters, it inserts a chapter menu in the middle of the main video and the main menu, and then clicking on the play button it takes you to the chapter menu, not the video. I know this is confusing. I just want chapters for one video and want a button for chapters on the main menu page, but also a "play movie" button for that movie. Thank you.

Initial Thoughts Review on Toast 20

Hello all, I am once again pulling out the rest of my hair. This program (Toast 20 Pro) is driving me nuts. And of course zero help from "help." If you see my previous post, I uploaded a screen shot of my successful menu set up that took me FOREVER to make work. It's VERY basic. Main menu has 3 buttons. Play movie, chapters, and bonus features. When you click on the main movie from that main menu screen, it plays the movie. When you click on chapters, it goes to the menu scree, and bonus takes you to other videos on another menu. I saved the working project after burning a test disc. I wanted to use this as my master template. Now when I open that project, I only get "invalid operation" whenever I try to play any of the videos, or go to another menu. AND for the life of me, I cannot rebuild it the way I want to. I cannot figure out (again) how to add chapters to the main movie, but still be able to click on "play movie" from the main menu. If I click on "play movie" it takes me to the chapters screen. I obviously don't want that. Previously I somehow added chapters below the main movie (in the tree) but now it only adds a chapter menu to the left of the movie, which creates this problem. Any one able to help out? I can't believe whatever worked before, won't work again. Thank you.
