Failed To Start Image Writing Operation

I am working with avchd files from a sony hdr-xr200 camera. I burned to ISO and downloaded the VLC player. I could get it to play but couldn't find how to burn to disc from the player. I was able to copy the ISO file to disc using Creator 2009 (the program I do the editing in). It worked successfully and the DVD will play back in the player. I will try that on the other projects in the morning. They are short seven minute videos. This is a different problem than the ones encountered in the past. I have followed all the recommendations for the past problems and none of them fixed the errors. I have but don't use NXT because I cannot burn the edited files. I still get errors occasionally while burning with 2009 but if I close MyDVD and reopen, it usually works fine. If I leave the program open for a couple hours, it crashes and I have to close using the task manager. I like how quickly the projects render and burn so I have stuck with 2009 and put up with the occasional frustrations. This "failed to start image writing operation" is a recent error message and am hoping to find a fix. I was beginning to wonder if it might be a hardware problem with the burner but the ISO file burned just fine. Thanks for the help.
  2. Just recently I started receiving this error on the burn operation "Failed to start the image writing operation Error while Burning Image 80004003 Error while Aborting" I have closed the program, rebooted the computer but still get the message. Any suggestions?

    Encoding Errors

The sony camera records in avchd but I burn the project in standard DVD and not HD or blu-ray. My hard drive has about 160 GB available so there should be plenty of room. I will try burning to an ISO file and try that process. If I import the same files to Creator 2009, edit, save and open in MyDVD and burn I don't have any problem. The same process with NXT is where I get the errors.

    Encoding Errors

The projects average eight minutes and are edited/created in videowave with AVCHD files just using a circle in transition at the beginning and a dissolve at the end. I usually have a couple music files on the music track. I save in Videowave and import into MyDVD. I usually change the background to a picture on file, save and burn. I haven't saved to an ISO file and then burned from there. Seems like it would be an extra step. I also have not tried toggling the encoding mode. I just use the default settings. I haven't been able to find out what the errors refer to specifically.

    Encoding Errors

I purchased NXT to replace 2009. I worked the first couple times that I used it and then I kept getting an encoding error 8007000e and 8004520e when burning to DVD. I unistalled and then reinstalled the program. Still got the error message in MyDVD when burning to DVD. I continue to use 2009 because that is working but would like to use NXT.

    Error 8007000E When Burning

I tried changing the HQ setting but got the same error. Will try the memory fix. I included a screen shot of the error.

    Photo Import

In Creator 2009, when you open the "capture video" tab it gives you a video and photo tab to choose what you would like to import. In NXS, there is only a video tab. No longer is there an option to import photos.

    Error 8007000E When Burning

How would I render using the software vs hardware?
  9. I recently started using NXT (used Creator 2009) previously. i imported video from NXT capture, edited with Edit (advanced), saved and used MyDVD to burn. My first project worked well. My next project gave me a encoding error 8007000e while burning. I tried re-editing, saving and burning but got the same message. I still have 2009 on my hard drive as a back up to create the DVDs since most are dive videos and need to be done overnight. I believe I have installled all the updates it requested after loading the program. Any suggestions?

    Photo Import

I make diving videos and take a group picture on the video camera to use as the background for the DVD. I can drag and drop using windows explorer but that is now an extra step when I go to capture video and pictures that used to be available on the same screen on my earlier Creator program. Thanks for the response.

    Photo Import

Just upgraded to NXT from Creator. Home import page only shows option to import video but not photos. The description page says you can import photo and video. Where do I go now to import photos from my video camera?

    random clips will not import

I connected the camera and opened the files on the hard drive. The file tree take mes to AVCHD/BDMV/STREAM/(clip number).mts. I copied the .mts files of the clips that wouldn't transfer. They showed up in the "insert video/photo" option but has a cirlce with red slash. It shows a 20 mb file but won't preview. When I double click, I am told I need to convert the file. I do this but now it shows a 36 byte file but will not preview. Just to compare, I copied one of the other files and it needed to be converted before it would preview. The conversion showed the same size as the original and it would preview just fine. 1. Am I copying from the right directory? ( I don't see any other file that has video clips) 2. Any idea what would prevent the clip from playing? Once again, it plays fine on the camera and will play fine in the import files list but I cannot get a working copy of the file onto the computer. I loaded a trial version of Sony Vegas and the clips imported and worked fine. I have used Creator 2009 since last July and find it to be a little buggy (clips won't import, videowave 11 quits working, error messages while rendering video).
  13. When importing (capturing) video clips from my sony hdr-xr200 camcorder, there are random clips that will not import. It shows "attributes 00.00.00" and will not import the video. On the media import it will play the file just fine when I push the play option on the "available vidoes" tab but nothing will import. Surrounding video will import and it will also play back on the camera. I have tried to import a few times the clips that will not transfer. No luck. Any suggestions?

    Separate Problems

I have underwater video which average 10 minutes in length and are under 1gb in size that usually will burn to disk just fine after editing. I have soccer videos which are about an hour that almost always gives me error messages in the encoding phase. The hard drives that I have are all NTSF drives with over 300 gb available. Does that help clarify the comments?

    Separate Problems

I do get the repair option but it hangs trying to find the BurnMgr.msi file. This happens whether I use add/remove program or installing from the disk. I contacted customer support and they asked me to do a clean install again which I did. Small files seem to burn fine (1 gb) but large files (4gb cause an encoding error whether I choose hardware or software as the encoder). The most recent call today had me email the msinfo32 file to them so they could take a look. Will let you know what their solution is.
