  1. Hi Digital...Thank you very much for responding. I have My Dvd 10 Premier and Roxio Creator 2010. Does one program have this function and the other doesn't? If yes, please tell me which one has it. Didn't realize I had both programs...possibly using both without realizing they are different. I haven't made any changes to my system.

  2. Hope someone can help me. I used to be able to enable transition duration by clicking on the transition, change or set duration and then click apply to all. When I click on the transition and then click on Transition Duration, a window opens up and says "There is no items to show in this view". I have to set each transition duration one at a time...has to be an easier way. This is on Creator 2010, My DVD 10 on a Vista operating system. Thank you

  3. Hi

Hope someone can help me. I have My DVD 10 Premier and Vista computer. I had My DVD 8 Prem. and was able to set durations for both my photos individually and transitions. For some reason, I cannot change the duration of my photos individually, when I right click on photo the duration control is greyed out. Anyone else have this problem?

Would someone be kind enough to help me use this program.

    Thanks

  4.

    Hi

Have MY DVD 10 Premiere program and also My DVD8 Prem. In My DVD 8 all you had to do to lenghten the transitions and photos were to click on photo or transition and you were done. On My DVD I cannot save the transition time. When I click on a transition, window opens up to let me change the timing but the apply to all is greyed out, middle of box says no transitions and there are no transitions showing. I cannot change the photo length of time for each photo because that application is also greyed out??? There is a default area where I can change the photo time but all photos have to be set at one time.

Did not have these issues with My DVD8 Prem. Anyone else have this problem and why are these options not showing or not allowed.

    Thanks

  6. Hi

Hope someone can help me out.

I have a DVD project that I burned onto a DVD a few years ago. I would like to add to it and fine tune it a bit. Is it possible to restore my project from a burned DVD which has music etc on it back into My DVD 8?

If yes, please explain how it would be done.

    Thank you

  7. That is the procedure that works in EMC10, if it does not work for you then there is something wrong with your install or you do not have the full version and are lacking some features.

In your first post you stated that EMC8 works different - a single click was required to bring up the menu.

Exactly what version of myDVD10 do you have?

    Hi

I should have the full version, it was not a download, I purchased the disk. My version is 10.1. In fact I had 3 choices in installing MyDVD10. Typical, quick and complete (or something close to these words) I chose the last one thinking I might as well install everything since I had plenty of room.

Not sure what to make of it.

  8. I believe you have to right-click on the photo and the transitions to get to the duration adjustments. For photos use the Trim option from the drop-down context menu. I believe it has always been right-click since a left-click will will only select a photo, a double-left click will open the Phot Editor.

    Hi

Thank you so much for your response.

Your procedure is what I always did in MyDVD8 but for some reason in MyDVD10 that option does not appear when I right click on the photo or transition.

Unless they are calling it something different I cannot bring it up.

  9. Hi

I just installed MyDVD10 and am working on a photo project however, I cannot find where to adjust the photo duration. On MyDVD8 if you clicked on the photo a window popped up where you clicked on apply duration and you could apply duration for 1 photo or all the photos in your project.

I can do it manually for each photo but this would take an enormous amount of extra work. The same for adjusting the transitions...it does not have a window that opens to allow you to set the transition time for all of them. Am I missing something. Doesn't seem that the newer version would have omitted this feature.

When I click on the photos a window pops up but no Apply Duration for photos comes up. Has the terminology changed for this procedure? Hope someone can assist me so I can continue my project.

    Thanks

  10. I guess it's better to know the bad news before you start, else you might be 99% through the project before you discover you have to start again.

    Best regards,

    Brendon

    Hi Brendon

Normally it is the other way round......:)

Your right, better to be safe than sorry. Thanks again for your input.

    Take care

  11. Sorry Basket,

I don't know about that because I've never done it.

IF [and that's a big 'IF' because a lot of this software is not backwards compatible] MyDVD10 will accept a saved MyDVD8 project, I would expect that you will need to have all your source files in exactly the same path on the new computer as they were on the old computer since the project file stipulates where the source files are.

If the path on the new computer involves a change in username or version number, you might have to construct an entirely new branch on your file tree so that the files live in exactly the same path.

I suggest you try it and see, unless some of the other folks can hop in here and tell you 'yea or nay' already.

    Regards,

    Brendon

    Hi Brendon

Thanks again for your response, appreciate it.

Guess I will have to restore it photo by photo in MyDVD10. I have copied my photos into my external 500gb Book so I would not clog my computer that has MyDVD10 installed even though I have lots of room there. Did not want to have hesitation problem as before. So path has changed and I am sure path would be slightly different since two different brand computers even though same operating system.

Will have to bite the bullet and redo it....:( or keep it as a two part DVD and just redo newest section.

    Thanks again

  12. Hello Basket,

If you run the software, and go up to the Help button and select 'About this software' you should get a display which will show you the Name of the suite, the Version number, and the Build number. Those first three lines are the important ones, if you care to share them with us. Don't disclose the 4th line, the serial number.

    Brendon

    Hi Brendon

I was able to install MyDVD10 Premier recently and the version I received was as ordered....10.1.143.

I had started a DVD project on MyDVD8 in another computer. Is there any way to transfer what I have done to MyDVD10 which is in another computer?

    Thanks

  13. Hi

I believe I can have two versions of MyDVD (10 and 8) in my computer at the same time...however, not sure how to install MyDVD10 without going over MyDVD8 Prem.

Would appreciate some step by step instructions to guide me.

    Thanks

  14. I believe, Yes. You should be able to install both versions without undergoing specific change. However, there is a slight chance of conflict.

    Hi

Thank you very much for your response.

When I install the new version, how do I keep the two separate and not allow new one to install over the old one?

Hope you can explain to me.

    Thanks again

  15. Hi

I want to install MyDVD10 into my computer, however, I have MyDVD8 Prem. already installed and am in the process of creating a DVD from photos.

I would like to keep both programs in my computer...is this possible and if yes, how would I change how I find it? I know I can save programs in different files and would like to know if this is possible with this program.

    Thanks

    Hi Brendon

Thank you so much for your response, appreciate it. Will install the program and check out "About this sofware" and get back to you. Hate to start out having to upgrade before I even begin especially since I was assured I would get the latest version out there. I will share what I find with you.

    Thanks again

    Hi

Thank you for the address for MyDVD10 upgrade. I am going to install program and check out what I have first and will post it. Hopefully I will not have to upgrade so soon.

    Thanks again

If you find that you don't have the 10.1 version, here is a link to the update to 10.1.:

  17. Hi

Would appreciate some input. I just received MyDVD10. I specifically asked for the 10.1 version but cannot see anywhere on disc or pkging what version it is.

Where would it appear? Know I can download update but don't like upgrading when I just purchase a product.

    Thank you

  18. Looking at your specs I would say that your problem is that you have only a 40GB hard drive. How much of the is free space? Do you have an external drive in your system? Without more drive space you will never be able to do much video work. The minimum free space recommended is about 15GB and even that is barely enough.

Also you did not specify which video card and/or graphics adaptor you have in your system.

    Hi myguggi

Thank you again for your response, appreciate it.

Sorry, forgot to add my graphics card which is a 128 MB ATI Radeon. My free memory in my computer is now at 11.8 GB...which according to you response is not enough. I also have an external Pioneer writer and an external 500 gb Hard Drive, however, my photos are all in my computer and I am afraid to move them to the external drive since they now will have another address. MyDVD will not be able to access them once I move them out of my computer to another place. I am more than halfway through this project.

The only way I can see moving the photos to the external drive is to start my project all over again. Am I correct?

    Thanks again

  19. You can easily tell in Videowave how much room you have left on a DVD for your project without sending your production to myDVD.

A standard 4.7GB DVD will hold 60 minutes of best quality video. That means that your production in Videowave should not exceed about 55 minutes (to leave some space on the DVD for menus)

As to your problem, could you please list your system specs such as CPU, memory, hard drive space and especially your video card. Also did your program come with your computer or burner or was it a retail purchase? What make/model of DVD burner do you have?

    Hi Digital Guru

    My system specs are:

    IBM Intel Pentium 4

    CPU 3 ghz

2.99 ghz 1 GB of Ram

    Microsoft XP Professional

    40 GB HD

Hope you can help me out...trying to finish project and cannot get photos to move along with freezing while music plays. When this happens I cannot stop the production until the "marker/needle" moves again.

    Thanks

  20. Ver. 8 is quite old now and I don't have it installed on my computer, but as I remember there is a small Icon (right above the timeline and storyline boxes in Videowave (Show and/or hide tracks and has a small "+/-" as the Icon) which when you click on it when in the Timeline view, it has several boxes you can check for Native, Music, Nar and Sfx. Make sure you have these audio boxes checked, especially the native and music ones. Just a suggestion and might not be the problem but worth a check.

    Frank...

    Hi Redwagon

Thank you so much for your response. I checked out those boxes and they are all checked. I am working in MyDVD not Videowave. I start my production in Videowave and send it off to MyDVD so that I can watch how much room I have left to work with.

What should be taking very little time at all to attach photos to the boxes is taking me forever since I cannot see where the music ends with what picture. The "needle" that moves along just sticks and then jumps ahead on its own.

Hope I will get a reply soon from someone who has experienced this problem also.

    Thanks again, appreciate your input.
