Toast 12 Dvd's Play Fine On Mac But Not On Home Dvd Player

Thanks to Digital Guru, the problem has been solved, persistence paid off, you stayed and I followed your suggestions. I hope that Roxio finds out and fixes the bug. He is right I should not have to choose to write NTSC, but the question came up for me to choose, NTSC or PAL. The program did not care what I chose because it defaulted to PAL on its own. That window is not necessary it should rely only on the preferences. It looks like that whoever wrote the program lives in a PAL region. Thanks again, Mr. Guru.

Toast 12 Dvd's Play Fine On Mac But Not On Home Dvd Player

Thanks for the help. I'm pursuing this issue because I like Toast 11.2 features and I also believe that I may be doing sothing wrong. So, I'll try any suggestions no matter what. Everyone one knows that iMovie and FCP do not author video DVDs. I'm using iDVD to burn the DVDs and for a long time I never had problems with them playing in a regular home DVD player. Yes, the DVDs done by Toast have a AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS like all others. The following is a step by step using Toast 11.2 to burn a DVD. 1.Open Toast - 2.Choose DVD Video - 3.Name the DVD as Test - 4. Choose menu style - 5. Load video clip, never touched by iMovie or FCP - 6. Burn - 7. Choose write to NTSC - 8. Used a Memorex DVD-R on a Mac Super DVD. Tried on a the home DVD player and the message given is "invalid format". What am I doing wrong? Is it possible that the DVD players I tried it on have some limitations?. The DVD players in question are Pioneer and Toshiba. Does DVDs burn from Toast need a specific player with certain specifications? If this is the case, then it will be a problem because when I distribute the DVDs I assume they will play in any home DVD player. Sorry for the trouble, and I appreciate the time from a knowledgeable person like you. After all we both would like a good Roxio product.

Toast 12 Dvd's Play Fine On Mac But Not On Home Dvd Player

Thanks for the help. It is even a bigger mistery, when I've been burning DVDs for long time using iMovie and more recently Final Cut Pro. All DVDs without exception have played on the players mentioned. Is there a problem with Toast 11? Is that problem solved on Toast 12?

Toast 12 Dvd's Play Fine On Mac But Not On Home Dvd Player

Second sentence, tried different brands, Memorex and Verbatim. Still will not play in any of the DVD players I tried. Looks like I have to return the Roxio Toast, although I liked it, but if can't burn the DVDs the software is not usable. In this process I burned ten blank DVDs, all trash.

Toast 12 Dvd's Play Fine On Mac But Not On Home Dvd Player

Further to my previous question: I burn DVDs using iMovie with no problem and they play in every DVD player. Using Toast the DVDs will not play, unless they'll only on a special brand of DVD player. Which?

Toast 12 Dvd's Play Fine On Mac But Not On Home Dvd Player

Followed sugestion. Rename image from .toast to .iso. Use DVD-R, disk utility, plays ok on MAC and PC. Tried on DVD players, Pioneer shows invalid format, Toshiba shows not NTSC. Really frustrated. Do I have to buy a special barnd DVD player? M2
  7. I'm having the same problem with a new computer that came with Windows Media Center. However the same version works fine in my lap top with windows XP Pro. Any connections? Thanks Manuel
