    Activation Patch

I've searched the forum high and low using different search terms, but no luck either. Also, I DID try offline activation as well, but never got where it asked me to activate offline.

    Activation Patch

I read about the patch in THIS THREAD at the bottom. The posting was made by GrandpaBruce. Here is the text: "We will all hear about it, at the same time. The last that I remember reading was sometime in April." As for the link you provided, I'm not sure I came out specifically and said it, but I have tried that, and many other suggestions both in the forum, as well as by phone support, all with no success.

    Activation Patch

I heard in a thread that there is a patch coming this month for the no permission issue during Mpeg2 activation. I just got off the phone with support, because of an ongoing activation issue, and they have not heard of this patch. Can anyone give me more information on if there is indeed a patch, and if so, is it supposed to fix this issue? I have another thread I created that talks about my issue, located HERE

    Convert Video and MPEG-2 Decoder

I think I've re-installed about 5 or 6 times. I've tried as my regular user (Admin user), and the actual Administrator user. I've tried without the activation patch, with the activation module uninstalled, and with the activation patch installed. I've turned off all firewalls. I've done just about everything I can, short of wiping my system and starting from scratch!

Just bumping in case anyone has any suggestions!

    Convert Video and MPEG-2 Decoder

I should also note, I did try an offline activation as well as noted in one support document, but it never gave me an option to do an offline activation. Also, I tried the patch from Roxio 1 more time, and the option for Video Compilation is not gray anymore, but I can't do anything with it. It always goes back to CD/DVD and never gives me any other options to choose a video file to convert, or a format to convert a video file to.

    Convert Video and MPEG-2 Decoder

I'm not sure if this is the same issue or not. I've done some research on both issues, as well as contacting Roxio on this. My first issue is I am getting the "No permission - Bad installation" error when it tries to activate the MPEG-2 Encoder. I uninstalled (3 times), used the MS utility to uninstall, hacked the registry to remove all Sonic and Roxio entries as suggested on the board. I also got a patch from Roxio for activation, but it still won't activate. I belive I tried most suggestions I found on the board, but it still isn't working. I'm running Vista Ultimate and DID have Sonic MyDVD 6.1 on the PC before installing EMC9. 2nd is when I try to convert a video, I go to disk copier, as it should be, but the Video Compilation Mode is grayed out. Might this be because of the MPEG2 issue? If not, any thoughts why the Video mode is grayed out and how I can fix it? Thanks! Matthew
