    Adding Audio To A Production

Confusing! Insert background music to production: How do you want to insert the audio? Add on Music Track Add on Sound Effect Track Add on Internal Music Track of the selected panel What is the difference between Music Track and Sound Effect Track? I just want music to play while the video is playing. Different Question: When I transferred from super8 or 8mm projector to camcorder I get the sound of the projector in the background. After transferring to my computer and play it back, I hear that sound. Is there any way I can remove that sound from my video? Adding music did not cover it up, you could still hear the projector sound. Thank you

    Adding Audio To A Production

I am dumb, dumb, dumb. Right after sending the question about the projector sound it hit me like a ton of bricks! I am so used to new technology with sound, that I forgot that 8mm and super8 do not have sound, they are silent. Once I had them transferred to my camcorder, the next step was to transfer them to the computer. Here is where I messed up. I connected the S-Video as well as the audio red and white. I should have connected only the S-Video since I did not want to capture the sound from the projector to my computer version of the video. Sorry for submitting this stupid question. Since you are asking the question about what kind of projector I am using, I have to assume you are too young to remember 8mm and super8. The projectors always made a lot of noise.

Videowave Stops Working At Start Up

Got it! Pinnacle Forum came through!! They told me that I could use a free software called WinDiv. I tried it and it worked. Here is what I told them, thanking them very much for their answer: WinDiv worked. It was a Zip file that executes it's own viewer for capturing from the camcorder. I transferred my videos using the MovieBox DV as an interface between my camcorder and my computer. It worked!! It created an AVI file that I was able to play on Windows Media Player. Now I can use VideoWave to trim and add text, etc. to it.
  4. Does anyone know if MovieBox DV will work with Easy Media Creator 9? I have Pinnacle Studio 9 which is not compatible with Vista. I would have to upgrade to version 11. But, if I can use the MovieBox DV with Roxio, I will not have to upgrade to version 11. I do not need Pinnacle if I have Roxio. I do not need 2 video programs. And, besides, Roxio is doing what I want.

Videowave Stops Working At Start Up

Ignore this. All of a sudden it started to work fine. Go Figure!!! When I select VideoWave and say New Production and say ADD Photos/Videos and after it goes to where all my video files (DMSM, AVI, WMV) are, the program stops working and Vista windows closes it and it generates the following error: Problem caused by DivX™ Codec This problem was caused by DivX™ Codec. DivX™ Codec was created by DivX, Inc.. DivX, Inc. is aware of this problem and working as quickly as possible to make a solution available. Recommendation -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To learn more about this problem, DivX, Inc. recommends that you go online to the following website. DivX, Inc. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rate this response:Provide Feedback The first time I got this error, I downloaded the DivX fix and that caused so many problems that I had to revert back to before installing DivX fix. Lucky me, I had set a Restore Point prior to installing DivX fix. Now I keep getting it again and cannot install it and can not use VideoWave. Stuck and don't know what to do now.

    E-mail Audio

I already used Sound Editor. It still came out too large to send as Background or Attachment. I just thought that if Roxio had software to send email audio smaller, it would make life easier. I will CHAT with them tomorrow and ask them why I cannot access email as per their instructions in HELP. I will let you know what they answer. Since I could not use Background because file was to large, I am doing the following:::: I converted the wave (14.3 mb) file to an mp3 (1.79 mb). This is much smaller. After adding it as a Background Sound and Send it in Windows Mail, I get a error: One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. When you send this message these pictures will not be included. Are you sure you want to send this message? After saying yes and sending the message, and receiving it, there is no sound. I do not think that background sound recognizes MP3. Since I made it small enough for an attachment as well, I decided to send it as an attachment and this way the person can play it as an attachment. I tested it using myself and it worked. So any time I want my friend to hear a song and it is too large as a WAVE I will convert it to an MP3 and send it as an attachment, as long as it comes under 11 mb. Until Windows Mail accepts MP3 as a Background sound, this is the way I will have to go. Thanks for all your suggestions.

    E-mail Audio

I am trying to email audio, but the file is too large. Maybe I can make it smaller using Roxio like when I make my video smaller using e-mail selection in VideoWave. I thought there would be one for Audio to do the same. So I went to find it. I went to HELP in Easy Media Creator 9 Home. HELP said to email audio and change the size go to TOOLS and select E-mail I went to TOOLS. I cannot find E-Mail. What are they talking about? What E-Mail Assistant? Here are their instructions: e-mailing audio files media files photos videos Then when you read the following there is no mention of audio files. Why have audio files as selection in HELP, when it isn't listed in the instructions? E-mailing media files You can share your photos and other media files with friends and family by e-mail. Using the E-mail Assistant, you can e-mail photos individually, either as an attachment or in the body of an HTML-formatted e-mail message (if your e-mail program supports HTML-formatted messages), or you can send your photos packaged in a slideshow. To e-mail your files: On the tool bar, click E-mail. To add media files to be e-mailed, follow these steps: Click Add Files. The Add Files dialog box appears. Browse to and select the files to be added. Tip: To select more than one media file at a time, press and hold Ctrl while you select the files. Click Add Files. Select the e-mail program you want to use to send the files by choosing one of the following options: Default e-mail client (Microsoft Outlook): E-mail the files using your default e-mail program. If you select this option, choose whether to send the e-mail in HTML format. If you choose this option, the photos appear in the body of the message, rather than as attached files. Other (e.g. Yahoo, webmail): Save the files on your hard drive and e-mail them later using a web mail account. If you are e-mailing photos, you can choose the format in which they will be sent. For example, you may want to convert a photo to best fit a particular screen size, or to reduce the size if you are e-mailing a large number of photos to someone with a dial-up connection. Choose one of the following conversion options: Convert photos to JPEG: Sends the photos in JPEG format. You can choose the size of the converted photos: Small (640): Converts photos so that the largest dimension (height or width) is 640 pixels. The other dimension is sized to maintain the current proportions. Medium (800): Converts photos so that the largest dimension is 800 pixels. Large (1024): Converts photos so that the largest dimension is 1024 pixels. Original size: Maintains the current size of photos. Make a slideshow: Converts the photos to WMV format. Just send the files with no conversion: Sends the photos without changing their file format and size. Note: Photo conversion options are available only if you have selected photo files to e-mail. The conversion does not affect your original files. If you are e-mailing video files, you can optimize their quality by setting the conversion options. In the Quality box, choose the desired resolution. The higher the resolution, the better the picture quality, but the larger the resulting file. Note: Video conversion options are available only if you have selected video files to e-mail. The conversion does not affect your original files. Click OK. If you chose to use your default e-mail program in Step 3, the conversion status indicator appears. When the conversion is complete, an e-mail message appears. If you chose to use an e-mail program other than your default, the Pick the location for your e-mail files folder appears. Browse to the location in which you want to save the converted files, and click OK. The files are converted and copied to this folder. Use the e-mail program to attach the files to a message and send them. Complete and send the message. For detailed instructions, refer to the documentation for your e-mail client.

Videowave Stops Working At Start Up

Okay. I tried the MovieBox DV. I attached my camcorder via RCA cables to INPUT side of MovieBox DV. I attached Firewire to OUTPUT side of MovieBox DV. I plugged everything in and started up my computer. A window appears and asks which software I want to use with the DV attached. One is Roxio 8 and the other is Microsoft Movie Maker. I also noticed that it did not appear in MY COMPUTER as a Drive. I tried Movie Maker and it did not recognize my camcorder. I tried Roxio 9 (which was an upgrade from 8) and received an error message. I can send you the exact message if I you tell me how to insert a JPG file. When I go to INSERT IMAGE, it asks for an http:\\ and my JPG is on my hard drive. Since it did not work I will go the old way and copy the videos from my camcorder to my Sony Player/Recorder DVD and then capture the DVD using Roxio. This way I wouldn't have to buy pinnacle software just to use the MovieBox DV. I don't know if anyone out there is old enough to remember 8mm and Super 8. Those that are can appreciate what I am doing. I am copying my old 8mm and Super 8 to my camcorder. I wanted to go directly to computer from my camcorder, but as I said above, the MovieBox DV did not work I will be going from 8mm & Super 8 to my camcorder and then from camcorder to my to DVD player/recorder to create a DVD which I will then use to capture the videos to my computer. Then I can get rid of all the old reels of movies.

Videowave Stops Working At Start Up

Aren't you the funny one. I wanted to make sure before I unpack it from the wrapping protecting it and connecting to my camcorder with rca cables, setting up the camera, getting the tape out, setting up the camera, plugging it in, connecting the firewire. Turning everything off before connecting. Starting everything up. I am already tired just writing all that I have to do. I hate it when I go to all the work and it does not work. That is frustrating. Now I have to put it all back. I will be trying it hopefully tomorrow. Thanks for your input.

I did not try it yet. Also, I stopped using Movie Maker, it wasn't as good as Roxio.

    Runtime Error

I asked for help in Easy Media Creator 9 for Vista Forum, but have not received any help as yet. I submitted a Ticket, am still waiting for a reply. I did the Chat bit and both times they came me something that did not get rid of the Runtime Error. Here is what happened: It Was working fine last night before turning off computer. This morning I started up VideoWave, selected New Production, then ADD Photo/Video and received Runtime Error I also tried to save a Production and received Runtime Error. I do not get a Runtime Error when I ceate an Email File from this Production, but when I try to save the Production I get a Runtime Error. This is what I get: Program:c:\Program Files\Roxio\VideoUI9\VideoWave\9.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. I tried everything that I could find on the forums and Chat and websites and nothing works. I am getting annoyed and really angry. There product when it works is fantastic. Why do they have to have a software that has to be uninstalled in such a long and crazy procedure. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times because of prior problems. I takes a long time to do this. Is Easy Media Creator 10 any better? I have 9 and tried to install 9.1 because I have Vista, and that was the beginning of my problems. I finally had to remove 9.1 so 9 would work again. Now this problem popped up. The only thing I can think of is that I have new software RegCure and ran it. Could this have caused my Runtime Problem? It was working last night after I installed and ran RegCure, so I cannot see that as the problem, but who knows. It shouldn't have. I needed to run a clean up because my computer was crashing too many times and would not not boot up or turn off correctly. Now that works fine because I ran the RegCure. Maybe I have to uninstall Roxio again and reinstall so it goes after the RegCure install. I don't know what to do. I cannot use VideoWave. Another thing. After all the prior problems and finally getting it work before this problem happened, I lost the ability to access Capture via VideoWave. I was able to at one time. Now I lost it.

    Runtime Error

I just received an answer from Roxio. They said to add all Roxio and Sonic Registry Keys to Ignore list so it does not remove them when my RegCure runs.
  15. The Cats Meow

    Runtime Error

Okay, that got me back working. Do I have to be afraid to run Reg Cure? Or was it that Roxio had to be installed after Reg Cure was installed?

    Runtime Error

I tried repair. I stopped Firewall, stopped my virus check. Selected Change and then Repair. It started installing and then stopped with an error. The wizard was interrupted before Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click Finish to exit the wizard. Then this window pops up: Fatal error during installation. What am I doing wrong? Separate question: How do I include a JPG picture?

    Divx Codec

Sometimes when I am using VideoWave, and read in an AVI file, I get a Not Responding and Windows will close this application. A pop up window appears saying that it is a problem with DivX Codec and that there is no resolve as yet for this error. They do tell you to go to their website for more info. I did and saw in their list of fixes something for my problem. That is, I thought it was a fix for me. Turns out that it made it worse. I could not read any AVI files after installing the Fix. So, I had to uninstall Roxio with that long terrible procedure and then reinstall it to fix it. So, what I am left with is that same error that pops up sometimes saying that DivX codec is the cause, but not resolved as yet. Anyone know of this problem with DivX? From now on before I do any thing related to Roxio, I create a System Restore Point so that I can always go back instead of having to do that ridiculous lengthy uninstall and reinstall process. I have in Windows\System32\ DivXDec.ax All my DivX .ax have capital D and X.

    Not Responding

When I save my Production (DMSM) File after adding text etc to my small video clip it says Not Responding. I stays like that from any where to 1 minute to 5 minutes before it brings up my folder to save my file. Sometimes I bring up the Task and it of course will say NOT RESPONDING. I then close TASK. Sometimes I get a pop-up window that says Windows Will Close this program. Sometimes I get a pop-up window that says Do You want to wait for program to respond or do you want Windows to close it. Any idea why this happens? I cannot install 9.1 for Vista. I tried it and it corrupted my Creator and it would not work at all. I had to uninsall everything and reinstall 9 again. Roxio CHAT told me since it 9.1 caused me problems, that I should not try to install it again. This does not make sense. Why have an update avail that I cannot use. I own my own 9. I removed the one that came with my Dell and purchased my own copy.

    Divx Codec

No, I cannot install 9.1. That is what caused my first problem. After installing 9.1, I could not even use Creator 9. It would not even start up or it would crash. I contacted Roxio via Chat and they came me the instructions to uninstall and reinstall 9. They told me not to install 9.1 if I do not have to.

DLA & Easy Media Creator 9 Suite

I just purchased Easy Media Creator 9 Suite and when I go to My Computer and Select Properties on my DVD and CD drives, I do not see DLA listed as a TAB. I cannot seem to find out where I can enable it. The prior version that I received installed on my DELL computer was limited, but did have a selection on the Roxio menu to enable DLA. I cannot seem to find anything in HELP or on all the Menus where it lists DLA. Any ideas????
