I noticed that Cineplayer 2012 doesn't have Blu-Ray play back support for commercial Blu-Ray disks. To get around this short coming I installed the Blu-Ray plug in for Cineplayer 2011 and then the April 2011 update and life is now good. I don't know for how long.

Hi Everyone, Windows Developer Preview (Windows 8) is available for download here. I downloaded the 64 bit iso file. The download time was less than 30 minutes for me. The install process going to a SATA II 2.5 external hard drive had three reboots until I got the desktop. Total time was 17 minutes. The install was on my DIY PC. This developer preview is acutally prebeta Windows 8. The included browser is IE 10. I had to use the compatibility function for this forum. Shutdown was very slow. I didn't time it but 45 seconds seems about right. I have some yellow exclamanation points in Device Manager so I do have some drivers to install. Dave

Look around for a HD VHS tape system. JVC used to make one. The cable companies were once using this type of device. You can feed it 1080i via component video which is not HDCP compliant.

Hi Cauptain, It's more than just a "virtual" memory reporting error. The amount of memory with 32 bit is being incorrectly reported whether it's "virtual" or real. Even the memory with 64 bit needs clarification.

I noticed that Video Copy and Convert is not reporting the amount of memory correctly under Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. This still is an old bug. Total Memory 6 GB Total Available Memory 6GB I would expect the above to be correct under Windows 7 64 bit but not 32 bit. Even Task Manager doesn't show those numbers. The Total Memory is correct for the amount on physical memory installed. The Total Available Memory is not possible with a 32 bit operating system. Some amount around 3.5 GB depending on the PC and video card would be accurate.

Jim, Which PC do you need it for? As indicate in the images below, memory management with the 32 bit OS is much different than a 64 bit OS. Nevertheless, I don't know why Roxio is reporting 6 GB as indicated in the above posted images for the 32 bit OS.

Gentlemen, The below posted images were taken on my custom PC that has 8 GB of physical memory installed. The first image with the red arrows was taken under Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. The second image was taken under Windows 7 Pro 64 32 bit. Hopefully these images will better explain what I tried to explain above.

Hi, I would give you an image of what I am seeing with W7 but the Roxio board restrictions are horrible. End of rant. I run multiple OSs on my PCs so I do have more than 4 GB on then (expect for the laptops). W7 64 bit is my normal OS but I do test under W7 32 bit. So if you have a PC or laptop and have more than 4 GB and happen to boot up a 32 bit OS then you will see issue. I just installed Creator 2010 on my laptop running VISTA and Windows 7 RC1 and Cineplayer fails with the following message: "The application cannot be launched due to insufficient video resources" This is the same problem that I had experienced with Creator 2009 Cineplayer. However Cineplayer with Creator 2009 works under XP-PRO. I have not tested Creator 2010 Cineplayer under XP-PRO. I suspect Cineplayer will work under XP. I have opened a ticket with Roxio technical support as today. I don't believe that it's a virtual or physical memory problem as my page file is 9gb and my physical memory is 3 gb with only 34% used. My NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS 512mb should be more than sufficient.

I finally solved this issue on my HP DV9700t laptop. :D During the installation of Windows, Windows conducts an initial performance assessment (Windows Experience Index). As it turns out, the initial default video driver installed by Windows doesn't contain DirectX 9 support for my laptop. When Windows completes the assessment process, all of the assessment indexes are stored in: C://windows/performance/winstat/datastore One particular XML file: ...........DWM.ASSESSMENT (initial).winstat.xml is where a flag is set indicating that DirectX 9 support doesn't exist. Even if you rerun the Windows Experience Index (re-assessment) the original ...........DWM.ASSESSMENT (initial).winstat.xml file is not replaced. It's probably kept for historical purposes (who knows). I discovered the file with a DirectX 9 support missing when I was comparing the differences between Windows 7 32 and 64 bit after installing a SSD. The fix for me was to delete out all of the files in the DATASTORE folder and re-run the assessment. Apparently CINEPLAYER keys on the "initial" DWM assessment file and not any one that might get created after the re-assessment process has been run. This issue has "dogged" my Roxio CINEPLAYER since VISTA and Roxio 2009. For some reason, XP and CINEPLAYER did in counter this issue.

I was prompted for a Cineplayer Blu-ray AACS update today. I allowed the download and then installed it. So far so good. cp_561_suite_561b68s_c17_8langs.exe

What are your PC specifications?

I have the same problem of insufficient video resources with Creator 9 and Creator 2010 on my HP DV9700t laptop. I worked with NVIDIA 2nd and 3rd level but they indicated that it was not a NVIDIA problem. The insufficient video resources doesn't show up under XP. The issue for me was first detected with Cineplayer. I give Creator 2011 another test on my laptop. Update on 10-23-2010: Cineplayer from Creator 2010 fails on launch running Windows 7 64 bit on my DV9700t laptop with the message "insufficient video resources". I thought of trying Creator 2010 under XP but then I have never had an issue with Creator on my laptop running XP.

ATI released a new driver update on 6/16/2010. ATI Catalyst Drivers

Review the ATI and NVIDIA performance specifications. Look at the memory bandwidth specifications and the DirectX level support. Be sure to understand your power supply requirements with any new video card.
