    Trim Screen Is Black

Since I can't use the trim screen, I've been using split/delete on the main screen, but I can't use it to delete just a couple of frames, so I have to Undo and change my point of splitting. It's just more time consuming than it was when I could use the trim screen.

    Trim Screen Is Black

OK...thanks. I'll quit trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong and assume it's just not there anymore. I'm working around it using the split & delete method, but I liked the ability to trim a little more precisely. Thank you for replying~

    Trim Screen Is Black

I've used the trim quite a bit, but lately the screen stays black and the time doesn't change. However, sometimes I can view the section in the little Start and End screens and the video plays fine. I've got old eyes. The bigger screen is much easier to make my precision marks. Do I possibly have a setting messed up or something? I don't really want to do a repair since everything else is working great and I'm afraid I'd end up messing things up. If no one has an easy fix or solution, I'll just keep squinting into the little screens. Thanks for any suggestions~ Oops, sorry. I just noticed that I have Creator 2010 Pro on my computer. I've never gotten around to installing 2011. I'm sorry I put this on the wrong site, but I'm not sure how to delete it.

    Saving Vhs

Thanks! It still doesn't show up in the Windows Media Player listings, but at least it's in a video folder that anyone can easily access and open with one click. I made shortcuts to all three iso files, but once they were on the desktop I found out I could delete two of them. I kept the one that opened up to the menu (the other two opened directly to chapters), renamed it, moved it to my video folder and it all works great. Thanks again~

    Saving Vhs

Yes, that's what I've been doing, but I was hoping for something easier for other people...something that would look like a real movie that would show up in the Windows Media Player list of videos instead of having to navigate through folders. I can do it, but I don't know that anyone else can who might use my computer (grandkids, etc.) I'm thinking that what I want isn't going to happen. I'll just have other people use the DVD, but I try not to use them too much so they don't get scratched. I have my folder-set so I guess I can always burn another DVD if the one I burned gets scratched. Thanks for your help~

    Saving Vhs

OK, thanks for your quick reply. That helped me. Yes, I think I burned from the iso. I did so many things, that I'm not positive of the final step. This is the first dvd I've done on Creator 2010 Pro. I've never had a problem burning before, but maybe I'm just out of practice. Once I burn a DVD, if I keep the folder set, I can delete the iso file, right? I can watch the movie by digging into the Video_TS folder and clicking on the icon that shows the menu, then it opens and plays fine. I was just hoping there was a way that it would show up with the movie title in my media list without having to dig through folders. I created a shortcut to the menu icon, plus I tried pasting the shortcut into C/Users/myname/MyVideo file, but Windows Media still doesn't list it with my other movies. I know where to find the movie, but I'm not sure anyone else (like my husband) would ever find it. Thanks again~

    Saving Vhs

I'm trying to get all of our unprotected VHS tapes converted to DVDs. It's been a while since I've done anything with Roxio, but gradually I'm getting the hang of it again. I got a DVD burned, but I also want a copy of the movie on an external drive so we can watch it on the computer. I have it saved in iso and as a folder file. I can get into the folder file to watch the movie, but I'm hoping there is a way to just have it play like a normal movie on the computer. I also spent hours encoding it, but although the movie played, there was no menu, so I deleted it. My questions: 1. Can it be saved like a movie with a menu for viewing on the computer? 2. If sometime in the future I don't have Roxio for some reason, will I still be able to burn a new DVD from the iso file? 3. How many ways should I save things so they'll be usable, but not go overboard? Thanks for any ideas. Most people don't back-up...I tend to back-up too much, but I'm throwing the VHS tapes away after they're copied, so I want to make sure that I have the videos so they can be used

    Double Arrow

Thanks to both of you for helping. Yes, Larry, that is the exact post I was looking for. It explains it for me...I hurriedly try dragging/scrolling and most likely I'm going further than the time on the disc and I'm too impatient to wait the three hours that the man who wrote the post did I just shut everything down and start over. I haven't even looked at VideoWave. I just go straight to MyDVD, make my edits, add some entry music, customize the menu and burn and normally it all works fine. I guess I'm afraid to try it a different way and forget what I kind of already know. I also know that I can click and move the bar to where I want...but like I said...I get in a hurry and my brain doesn't move as quickly as my fingers. It seems faster to just drag the bar where I want it...until it freezes and then it's not faster at all I'll try to learn some new tricks, slow down and probably have things working better! Thanks for your help~

    Double Arrow

I'm editing saved TV programs on MyDVD. I'm using Creator 2010 Pro and have Windows 7/64-bit, with 9 GB RAM. Normally things work fine, but once in a while when I try to drag the timeline to a certain place, it hangs and my cursor turns into a double-ended arrow. I can't do anything except shut down the program through Task Manager. The other day I was scanning through the forum and saw someone mention the double arrow and someone gave some advice. Of course, now that I need the info. I can't find it. I did a search, but nothing popped up. I'm sure I'm doing something to make it happen, but it would be nice to know what it is. I try to be patient and let everything catch-up with my scrolling, but it doesn't help. Any help would be appreciated.

    TV to Creator 2010

I came on this site to find out how to load my files into Creator 10. I have a new computer and new software...what could go wrong? Well, I opened Creator and had it open my Saved TV file and nothing showed up. My Win7 computer saves the tv shows in .wtv format and that's not one of the formats that Creator shows. Very frustrating! I saw a reply to your question about changing the file name to an mpeg, so thought I'd see how I could do that. When I right-clicked on one of the saved TV shows, there was an option to convert to .dvr-ms format, which should work fine. At least it did in Creator 9, or whatever my last version was. Hopefully this will be the answer to your problem and mine!

    Tape Conversion

OK, thanks~ I'm getting ready to play around now so I'll see how it all works. Previously, I was busy trying to get DVDs made and now it's a whole new ballgame with getting old music saved. My brain is too old for this I have Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite 9 and I don't see Bias listed. SoundSoap comes with Creator 2009 Ultimate, right? I don't know if it does that much more than Sound Editor. I'll work with what I have and see what happens. Thanks for your suggestions~

    Tape Conversion

Thanks! I think that might work. I made Doris sound like she was singing underwater, so I think with a little playing around I can maybe get her to sound close to what she should be. Everything I had seen showed that pitch wouldn't change the speed, but I think that's if the Bypass box is checked (not sure, so don't hold me to that!...I'm still experimenting). I'll have to play around with all of the effects and see what I can do. Thanks for your quick response and help~Judy

    Tape Conversion

I have boxes of old cassette tapes. In spite of the 5000+ songs that I have from CDs, there are many songs on the tapes that I still don't have on my mp3. However, some of the tapes play verrrry sloowwllyy. Doris Day now sounds like a slow-singing man I got a song saved into Sound Editor OK, but I don't see any place to change tempo/speed. Am I missing it or isn't there a way to do it with Roxio 9 Suite? If 9 doesn't have it, does 10? I'm still trying to decide if the upgrade is worth it to me. If I could get my tapes edited properly, I'd do the upgrade. Thanks for any help~

    Deleting Section

I haven't done a project for a couple of months and now it's like learning from scratch. I'm trying to edit a Jay Leno show so my granddaughter can see Miley Cyrus....but not get the adult stuff. I placed a marker at the beginning of the part I want to delete and another marker at the end of the to-be-deleted portion. VideoWave 9 Help says: To delete a section of your production between two markers: Add a marker at the beginning and end of the section to be deleted. Click the marker at the beginning of the section. Press Ctrl and click the marker at the end of the section. On the Timeline marker track, click – (minus). OK....I did that, but the section is still there. I'm assuming they mean the keyboard CTRL.....I'm not missing a Ctrl in VideoWave, am I? I've tried keeping Ctrl pressed while clicking on the (-) and also tried letting up the Ctrl at different times. I'm pretty sure they mean the - , but I also tried the 3rd button over (trim selected sections) and nothing is working. I thought this would be a quick, easy project and I can't get the commercials and adult stuff removed. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks~
