    Label Creator

I missed seeing this post because I was in the Creator 2010 discussion area. This post, for Creator 2011 dated August 28 appears to be an update to a similar post for Creator 2010 dated August 14. This latest post specifically notes that model HP C309, the one I have, "has been confirmed to work"; at least on Creator 2011. I'll give it a try on 2010. Thanks for the info. UPDATE......................... Loading the JWP files from GGrussell did the trick. I can confirm that the HP C309 prints correctly in Creator 2010. Thanks all for you help!

No, none of the HP models in the printer options; only Epson models.

    Label Creator

The reason I'm looking for the "offset" value has to do with information I read in a pinned post by "leadingedge" on February 12, 2010, referenced by Brendon above. According to the post, I need this value which is unique to my printer model.

Thanks for the reply Brendon. Both articles were valuable. I'm trying to find the CD/DVD specs relevant to my printer model, especially the "disc offset" values. No luck searching "properties" or anywhere else so far.

    Label Creator

I have created a number of projects in Creator 2010 and previous versions, but have always designed my DVD labels to print directly to DVD's on my old Epson R200 which has generally worked well. I just purchased an HP 309c Photosmart printer which also has the capability to print directly on CD/DVD media. The sad news is HP's label design software is very basic and very limited, but the print quality is good. Never having used the Label Creator feature in any version of Roxio I've owned, I don't know the capabilities or limitations. I did note a general statement in Label Creator Help that said Roxio was compatible with a number of printers with direct CD/DVD printing. However, I can't find where to look for these "compatible" printers. Anyone familiar with direct to CD/DVD printing? konabrad

    My Dvd & Chapters

I em on the Menu Tab and I had seen this previous post, but it does not show the "Generate chapter menu(s)....." check box either. What I did find out after I posted was that if I closed 2010 and opened 2009, this version does have this button where it says it should be, but 2010 does not seem to. Also, the movie I am working with has 15 chapters I added in MyDVD. Is it possible to play the entire movie from the Main menu, but also play each chapter from the Chapter menu? Brad

    My Dvd & Chapters

Currently using Creator 2010 with SP2 and Patch I searched the forum and reviewed what I could find, but I'm still confused about "Chapter Menus". I have added chapters manually to a movie and followed the step-by-step instruction (page 211) in the User Guide. I get to step 5 that says "If you want to create a submenu containing a button for each chapter, select the Generate chapter menu(s) and link to selected button check box". I can not find this "check box" anywhere. However, I did see it on one of Jim Hardins pinned posts, but I can not navigate there. Brad

    Blu-ray vs. Hi-def

What you suggest sounds like a good compromise. In fact, I was in a retail store today browsing the electronics department, specifically the blu-ray players. Only one of about 8 models had the AVCHD capability and it was priced at $134. Some other blu-ray players were priced as low as $104. So you've given me some options. Thanks for your feedback. It really helps to hear from others with actural experience.

    Blu-ray vs. Hi-def

I have video taped in hi-def mode, editied with Roxio, played on my HDTV (1080i) using an "up-scalling" DVD player, and have generally been pleased with the quality. Over the years, I've kept my eyes on Blu-ray and watched the prices for burners and players come down dramatically. Each is now around $150 and media is getting cheaper. So, the question is, not having seen any home-produced Blu-ray projects, is there much of an improvement in playback quality over high definition that would warrant the added cost. I realize this is somewhat of a subjective question, but I am curious as to what others have experienced.
  10. SUCCESS The manual download worked! Thank you very much for your quick reponses.
  11. Does not appear to be a lock on the file. I deleted it and ran the patch again. This time a new error message appeared; "can not delete.... \ProdDataMMPlugin.dll".
  12. Thanks for the quick response. I downloaded and unzipped the program you described. Previous to that, I opened Roxio and downloaded the patch again until it came to the message, "can not delete.....". I then ran the "find" process in Process Explorer. However, no process were reported running the VUISettings.dll. I don't know much about this program (looks like a super Task Manager) but I did note the following; "5668 Patch Application Roxio Creator" was highlighted in Purple; "5008 Presentation font cache Microsoft" in Yellow; 2800 Internet Explorer in Orange; and 3924 & 1604 Catalyst Control Center ATI in Yellow. I remember from previous versions of EMC some issues with ATI video cards. By the way, please ignor my "signature". I installed Creator 2010 on my secondary computer as I am still editing with 2009 on my primary system. The secondary is a P4 at 3.0 GHz, 2 GB memory and an ATI Radeon 9550 display adapter. Thanks again
  13. Just installed Creator 2010 PRO on my computer that does not have a previous version of Roxio installed. It is also a first time install, not a re-install. I then downloaded the January 2010 update called 2010 Pro pack. In seems to install but the following message opens; "can not delete target file: c:\programfiles\Roxio2010\\videoUI\VUIsettings.dll", but then goes on to say "complete". When again checking for updates, it tries to re-download the patch I previously downloaded. The About screen shows version 1.2.193; 5.0.0.0 and build 121393A. Ideas?

    NTSC vs PAL

Thanks for the feedback guys. I experienced a case of "use it or lose it". This time I made a note in my "Roxio Tips & Tricks" folder for the next time I forget where something is. Now if I can just remember where I put the folder. Hmmmm....

    NTSC vs PAL

I was recently asked if I could produce a project that could be burned to a DVD in PAL format for export. My answer was that I think I did this on an eariler version (7.5) years back, but can not seem to find anything in this version (2009) mentioneing PAL. Can anyone refresh my memory? Has the feature been removed? Or was I just dreaming!
