Brendon, thanks for the update. We have seen many of the pics coming from around the country. Glad you made it out OK. Bummer for your country. The peril of living on the Ring of Fire.

If you hear anything please post. He has been through 2 other of these in the last few years. This one more severe than the other two. I fear the worst for this fine gentleman who has helped me so many times over the years....

    Freeze Video Clip At End.

I am making a movie using a green screen stage curtain opening video clip as an overlay over an old silent screen movie as the background. The length of the video clip is 22 seconds duration. I would like for it to run out to the end and then freeze at the last frame for about an additional 38 second duration to the end of the silent screen movie which runs for a minute. So far the only thing I have come up with is to extract a still clip right at the end of the overlay and then add it on as an additional overlay. I know of the speed control but I am only able to apply it to the base video clip. I am unable to get a seamless continuation of the movie doing this. After the curtain opens I don't need any movement for the rest of the frame. Does anyone know of a way to freeze a clip at the end of the video clip or an add on to provide a seamless continuation?

    Freeze Video Clip At End.

Thanks Jim, I thought that was going to be my answer but this program continues to surprise me with more of what I don't know than what I do know about what it will do. I went ahead as you suggested and added a still clip on different overlay line and overlapped the video clip a little. I then set the duration to what I needed. I have been playing with it to make it look seamless. A few problems with color and size but it is getting better. Thanks again for the reply. Willard

    Music Editing Points

My recent rebuild of my computer including the reinstall of Creator 2010 has gone fairly well except little quirks keep showing up. Before the rebuild when adding a song to the music line I was able to highlight the music line and add points to the song directly by just grabbing them and pulling them down or along the middle line thus increasing or decreasing volume and where i want those things to happen relative to the pictures. This was helpful in that I could see directly how the song volume and placement related to specific pictures. I can still use the music Edit feature to do this but I can't see in The Edit feature how it relates back to the timing in the movie which is essentially a trial and error method. I am unable to find out why I could previously do this but not now. I would appreciate any help. I have attached a sample picture showing a few slides and the music line. Thank you.

    Music Editing Points

my gucci After my earlier post I went back to one of my older slideshows and after studying it and trying to jog my memory and I think found the solution. When in Timeline and following along the Timline commands there is on small icon labeled "Edit Volume Envelope for Audio Objects. With the program in Timeline I highlighted the song and then clicked on the "Edit Volume" icon. I was then able to add my points where I wanted them and slide them around wherever I wanted them without using the Edit Audio from the drop down box. I don't know if this applies to later versions but you may want to look at it. I have attached a pic showing the icon. Thanks again for your comments. Willard

mygucci, Thanks for the reply. I guess I don't know. Perhaps I am getting fuzzy headed in my old age. I can use the audio edit feature but I sure don't remember it but that is what I will do. Thanks again for the reply.

    Music Editing Points

mygucci I gave a lot of thought to how to describe this and I didn't do a very good job of it so will try again. if i add a 3 minute song to a string of pictures i have, in the past, been able to add the points directly to the music line by clicking on the line and add a point where ever I wanted them. I could raise or lower the points to increase or decrease the volume. I could also slide them fore and aft enabling me to fashion the song volume and placement of the points wherever I needed them. i was able to do this without using the music Edit feature.from the drop down box. I am no longer able to do this directly to the music bar. I am able to click on the song and highlight it and then right click to get the drop down box and Edit feature. I can also see the little thumbnail however I can only see one slide at a time instead of seeing the song as it relates to a series of slides.I can add the points to the song and manipulate them in the Edit feature but after I do this I have to get out of Edit and then I am able to see where I put the points on my Timeline music bar. If I have misplaced them I have to return to Edit and try again it works that way but much trial and error. Hope this makes more sense.
  14. I have several video clips that I took with my digital camera. I would like to add them as overlays to individual slides in a slideshow movie that I am making. My problem is that they are not bright enough. I was able to brighten them by adding them as an overlay to my background slide and then by using the Brightness, Contrast, Saturation commands available with the background slide and brighten the entire slide (background and overlay). This tends to over brighten the original background slide while making the overlay brightness acceptable. I have tried lowering the brightness of the background slide prior to adding the overlay, add the overlay, and then bring up the entire slide brightness with the Brightness, Contrast and Saturation commands but the result was not all that good and difficult to control. Does anyone know of a way to brighten video clips within the Creator 2010 program? If not what might my other choices be if any? On my computer specs you will see Creator 10 showing. I did have that installed originally thinking that it was the full program when I bought the computer. I learned later that it was not so later I bought Creator 2010 which I am using. Thank you

    Brighten Video Overlay Clips

Jim You have described it exactly. My difficulty was after opening a new production and using the tools to process my overlay. I was asked if I wanted to save the production. If I answered yes so I could delete the first overlay and reenter the next one I wanted to work on I would only get the drop down box showing only the .dmsm choice. (see pic) It was only by answering No did I get the larger drop down box that allowed for saving as an mpg file, What that required was restarting a completely new production for each overlay and then closing the program and reopening a new program for each one that I wanted to work on. It requires some extra steps but worth it to save the video clips. One other thing. I wanted to change the line on my computer specs showing that Creator 10 installed on my machine when new. I was unable to find a way to do this. Can someone change it or show me the way to make it read Creator 2010. I think my original question has been answered and we can say topic solved. Thanks to all.

    Brighten Video Overlay Clips

mygucci, i went back and pondered your comment. I opened a New Production. I added one of my overlays as the base slide. Using the Brightness, Contrast and Saturation tools I was able to manipulate a test video clip to exactly what I wanted. I then went to Output As. A large drop down box appeared. On this box are many selections. One of them is to Save as a Video clip. Another drop down box gives many choices for output format. I chose to Output As MP2. The program then processed my command visually and gave me the option of selecting the download. I directed it to my movie folder. I then opened my New production movie and put one of my base pictures in the movie as the first slide. I then added my new processed overlay. So far this looks like it is going to be work. I have attached a pic of the drop down box. It makes for some extra steps but saving those overlays will be worth it. Will let everyone knows how all this works out. Thanks to all

    Brighten Video Overlay Clips

my gucci, I did not see this as a choice in Export As so will go back and study some more....I went back and opened a new production. I added on of my video clips as the base slide. That is as far as I know the only way to change Brightness, Contrast and Saturation. I did this and I am seeing the exact video clip I need. I then went to Export as to see what choices I had. The drop down box only offers the choice of .dmsm that I can see. Could you please post some pics so i don't miss anything. Thank you

    Brighten Video Overlay Clips

Jim I see that there are several programs out there that purport to brighten video clips but don't know much about them. I tried this.....I started a new video production and added the video clip as the base clip. As it was the base clip I was able to brighten the clip exactly as I needed using the Brightness, Contrast, Saturation tools and saved it . I then exported it to a folder with a new file name but it saves as a dmsm clip. I then opened Copy and Convert so I could convert it to MP2 or any other format I could use but Copy and Convert didn't like the .dmsm clip and doesn't show on the list.

    Autoplay

My computer recently suffered a hard drive meltdown. I had a new hard drive installed with windows 7 reinstalled with all the updates. I have installed most of my programs including Creator 2010 which installed with no problems. My problem now is that I am unable to get my slideshows to start on Autostart using Cineplayer. I can start them manually and they play as they should. I have tried both my discs, that I made to Autostart, and some commercial movies. But none will Autostart. I have attached a couple of pics showing the settings I am using. While I can use it by starting manually it is a nuisance and I would like to make it work if possible. Thank you mooney.

Thank you, thank you thank you. Your advice did the trick. I did not see that little box. I did read that message but did not associate the box with the message.. I checked the box and you have to hiit the Save button or the box will uncheck. At first it did not work until I rebooted the computer. Right now it is working as it should Hope all is well with you and yours down there, I think of you often and all the travails you went through. Seems as though you are weathering the storm. We are coming into summer here; I planted 3 cherry tomatoes and 3 cucumbers beside the house and the tomatoes already have some little ones on them. My wife is doing pretty good but she is coming up on 85 and has some arthritis. Out traveling days are behind us now and we are happy watching our 2 new great grandchildren grow up. We are blessed with having all our family close by. Will let you go for now. Thanks again for your help. Willard

    Merging Multiple Overlays

test.mpgtest.mpgtest.mpgtest.mpgI like to create video clips of different friends heads on green screen and then insert them as an overlay to a cartoon character as a second overlay so I can use them in my slideshows. I then apply the chosen setting such as Slide from left-Slide to Right. I have trouble trying to keep the two overlays in perfect unison. They become somewhat disjointed depending on several input factors. Is there any way to merge two different overlays together so they work as one on the program that I have? I know I can shift them on Timeline so that they start together but they still shift as they move across the screen. You will see on the attachment the problem. You will also see that I hit the attachment button too many times. Sorry bout that.

    Merging Multiple Overlays

Jim, i had combined the fish to Lucy's character and flattened it to a single picture so that was not a problem. i had hoped to get the two different elements to move across the screen in unison but as you pointed out that it was not possible. Sometimes knowing that something can't be done is a more acceptable outcome than not knowing that it can't. Thank you for your comments Willard

    Merging Multiple Overlays

Thanks Jim, As I understand your comment I should, as applied to my example, combine the two elements in a separate file and then enter this this file as a single element in my slideshow. i have not tried this before and didn't know it possible. Will work on this and see how if I can make it work. Thanks again for your comment

    Merging Multiple Overlays

I should have added that the head example I used was a simple picture and not a video clip. I know how to make a flattened image in Photo Suite that will not separate but I don't know if it is possible to merge a video clip and a fixed picture
