Sorry for the confusion, I meant the RecordNow 8 premiere package (49.99 retail, 34.99 as an upgrade from a previous RecordNow ('7 Deluxe'), the package I currently have. I don't believe that RecordNow 8 premiere is a 'suite' --that is, it does not include all the video editing in EMC 8.

Some time ago there were various discussions about EMC8's Media Manager and the fact that it automatically altered the dates of various file. There were several posts referring to a Hotfix to be released by Roxio --but there seems to be nothing 'pinned' to the media manager topic; and a user suggested a methed to removed the specific application processes apparently responsible for the date changes (http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=4432&view=findpost&p=23254). These discussions and the fix suggested above specifically address EMC8. QUESTIONS: 1) Does the RecordNow 8 Deluxe standalone product --not as a part of EMC8-- have this same interaction? 2) Can the RecordNow 8 Deluxe standalone product WITHOUT Media Manager? (preferred) 3) Will the same fix mentioned above work with the RecordNow 8 Deluxe standalone product? 4) How can the cataloging by Media Manager be prevented before it can modify even 1 date? The addition of metafile data to be used by EMC8 is not my primary concern. Rather the very fact that the file dates are altered is upsetting since incremental backups (indeed by BackUp MyPC) are affected; more importantly I heavily rely on searching for various files based on date (either created or modified).
