Hi Lynn. Thanks. I tried the Mount option: the disk light flickers 5 or 6 times and then nothing. In the same Mac utility, there is a Verify disk button which I try and the routine fails with the following message:
Verifying volume “disk1s1”
Invalid BS_jmpBoot in boot block: 66671c
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
1 non HFS volume checked
Volume needs repair
The Repair option is not available.
In addition, the Disk Utility reads the disk as MS-DOS File System (FAT 16). This is a mystery to me because I quite carefully check to ensure that Easy Creator 10 is set to do Joliet / ISO.
Finally, if I insert the disk not having run the Disk Utility, there will be drive activity, a pause, more activity and then an error message appears saying, in effect: You can't read this disk on this computer. That error window has Eject and Ignore buttons, sometimes accompanied by an Initialize button. I can't see any consistent circumstance that causes the third (Initialize) button to appear.
I'm kind of desperate on this because it's a tough re-burning these DVDs over my wireless LAN, from the PC to the Mac. (And I guess I'm a little frustrated because I figure this stuff should 'just work' -- but I'm also old enough to know better.)
Thanks again for your help. If you can put me in touch with anyone who would be up to exchanging some messages or email, I'd be grateful.
