    How To Capture Record Audio

Thanks - I'll check that out when I get home. FYI - it is Windows XP. If it looks like I need a new soundcard, I may be asking for a how-to on disabling the onboard chipset...

    How To Capture Record Audio

Thanks. I know this shows my ignorance, but where do I look for "stereo mix" or "what you hear" fro recording - Creator, Control Panel? The sound card is, I think, RealTEk HD - may be built in to motherboard. Here again, I don't have a real detailed spec sheet but the machine is brand new. If its a matter of the sound card, I guess I could buy an add-on but what if it's the chipset? If that's the problem, that would have been a deal breaker when I bought this thing... Again, thanks!
  3. I have Creator 2009. It installed and seems towork fine. I've made CDs, etc. Now, I'm trying to record a concert of internet. It plays fine but when I open Roxio EZ Capture, it doesn't seem to be "hearing" the music which is playing fine from my speakers. The record levels don't move no matter how I try to adjust. Suggestions? Thanks

    Before I Buy...

No, I sold it on eBay a long tome ago. When I had it before, half the programs worked, half didn't. I'm still using Roxio 8 at this point.

    Before I Buy...

..I'd like to know the answers to these 3 questions: 1. Does the Label Creator print to disc on HP printers that print directly to printable CDs/DVDs? 2. Does this version have Creator Classic (the much easier - especially if I'm already familiar with it)? 3. If I buy from Roxio online and it doesn't work on my computer, can I get a refund? I bought Roxio 10 at Best Buy and couldn't make it work on my old machine, they would not even give me store credit. Many thanks

Early Returns On 2009? Is It Safe..?

Actually, I've upgraded my video card, its now a GeForce something or other with 512k memory so maybe that will help...
  9. I tried for weeks to get Creator 10 to work on my computer and finally gave up and dumped it on eBay. I'm just curious as the the general consensus on CReator 2009. Is it better (more stable) than EC 10? Does is work OK on XP? What type of hoops do you have to jump to install and get it to work?

    Hp 5280 Print On Cd

This is the printer I have. I prints direct to (printable) CDs. Roxio 8.5 doesn't seem to support this. Is there a workaound?

Life is too short for this...

Yes, I think. (Not sure I've used all.) And I've actually got EMC 8.5 Mainly I use the ones having to do with making music CDs, DVDs, editing video, recording streaming audio, making labels. Don't use the backukp or photo apps at all but think they run.

For the record, I had the same problems before I installed DirectX 10.

Life is too short for this...

So do you think "backgrading" to DirectX 9 will help? If so, how is that done? (I don't care about games. Also, I have no intention of buying a new video card to run one non-gaming software suite.)

Life is too short for this...

Update: I downloaded and installed new video drivers, DirectX 10, disabled all startup programs and started a clean install. It installed without out a hitch BUT nothing changed. All of the above listed programs refuse to run and all I get is the generic "Windows has closed this program..." I've had it and apparently there is no remedy. Best Buy, which ordinarily has a very liberal return policy will not take it back because it is opened software. Roxio apparently won't take it back because I didn't buy it from them. So my only option is to cease being a customer of Roxio. (I have previously ungraded since the Adaptec days on every other release.) I'm also going to tell all my friends of my experience. Cannot believe Roxio won't own this problem and either do a recall or offer refund or patches. They deserve to go out of business.
