Can't plack track within Toast 7

I'm using Toast 7.1.2 (upgraded) to record to a La Cie d2 DVD-RW via firewire. The software came bundled with the drive. I have a MacBook Pro running 10.4.10. When I try to play a track from within Toast (using the controls at the bottom of the window) I get an error: "Sound playback has been disabled due to a configuration incompatability. Please set the audio output frequency in the Audio MIDI setup utility, then reopen this application." When I open Audio MIDI setup, "Output not supported" is displayed, greyed out, in the output section. I don't know if this is an OS or a Toast issue. I did remove all Toast and Roxio files, and reinstalled Toast and Spin Doctor, but the problem persists. Any ideas what I can do? -oz
