    Roxio Creator 2010

Well after I got fudged over with EMC8 (One update then nothing only EMC9) you can see why I'm gun shy about Roxio products. Drag and Drop was a good idea, but it just didn't work well and it even caused a lot of system issues. Even very recently for me. Because of a dll drag and drop had on my system it prevended me from installing MW2. (Modern Warfare 2 PC version and it's not worth getting BTW for a lot of reasons.) Thanks for the info folks, I'll give it a try since what I have is only $80 with the videotape convertion usb conector with it. (Saw it was $59 on the roxio home page.)

    Roxio Creator 2010

Well I'm thinking about giving Roxio another shot. Is the Roxio Creator 2010 worth it? I can get it with the video tape to DVD usb for $80. I was so upset the last time with Roxio due to the poor support and upgrade (None) for thier last package 8. It even caused an issue when I installed MW2. Be honest and brutal.

    I Need To Know

Your right it might we worth waiting for. Maybe it will have the best of both version 9 and 10?

    I Need To Know

Thanks Beer, that's what I use it for the most. I have 6 7 and 8. 7 and 8 are both on my system because the media capture does not work on 8 so I have to use 7 for that.

    I Need To Know

Hum, thanks for the feedback all. I can get 10 for about $50, worth that? It seems 10 has less features then 9? Maybe I should get 9, it's probably real cheap anyway.

    I Need To Know

I need the fact before I buy this. I've had versions 6 and 7 and loved them. Had little trouble so of course I got 8. Now that was a big mistake! I had nothing but trouble with it. There was only ONE patch and they moved on to 9. There were also so some things I could do in 7 that I could not do in 8, so it went backwords. The only reason I tried to use it because the DVD output was far more like video. If not for that I think I would have selved it. So I decided to never by Roxio again. After trying Nero I realized Roxio was still a slightly better product, when it did what it was suppose to do. I was also wondering why there was a trial version of 9, which I tried but not 10. To me 9 was just 8 with a number of fixes that it needed. So tell me one and all that have it now would you buy it now knowing what you do about it now?

If you want 8 to work you'll need to buy 9

Guys thanks I know your just trying to help, but you misunderstand. It's not your fault guys, Its Roxio. My point is there has only been 1 update in a year for a program with lots of problems! If you check your home on the suite and click on update and it says it's disabled. It's now obvious they don't plan on doing anything about this. I'm re-installing the program once again in order just to get some use out of some parts of it. Program is really acting odd now after install/uninstall of trail version of 9. I'm afraid of get rid of older version (7) because it works. I really don't want to drop more $ into this pit.
  10. I noticed that the update for 8 is disabled. They fixed all the bugs and repackaed the program and it's now called Version 9. I am so upset. I was waiting for them to fix this program and now its obvious they just moved on! Why do I have to pay twice just to get somthing to work. Funny thing is I used the trial version of 9 with very few problems, so you can't blame my system for 8 not working correctly.

    Blank Project Screen

Now this is interesting. I got the 30 trial version of Roxio 9 and loaded the DVD creator program and loaded my project with the dark screen. Now it works???? I did have to load a fix according to the program from here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888656 before I could run it. So I triyed loading it again with version 8 only to still have the same problem with the same file? So I guess this means If I want a fix for your troubles in 8 don't wait for an update you will have to buy version 9?!!!! (I even noticed the selection of thumbnails seems to work in this version too.) So sad I use to like this product, but I will not keep forking out more money just to get the thing to work that I already paid for!!! You think those of us that paid for version 8 could get 9 for a small upgrade price or even for free?! (Not $69)

    Blank Project Screen

I get this problem from time to time for no reason. Projects fine and working then bam! Black screen of death, only way I've gotten around it is to start over. Funny thing is it was ok when I saved the project, but when I loaded it again it did not work, neither did my backup copy?!?!?!? I hate this software.

    I want to know...

Well I recently upgraded to Geforce 6200 AGP 8x 256MB video card and will get an even nicer one in the near future. However it didn't seem to help me with the few issues I have with version 8. I'll keep checking here and seeing what everyone has to say before I buy version 9. At this point I'm in no hurry.

    I want to know...

I really liked the output DVD quailty I got from 8 over 6 and 7. I still have trouble with the video editor crashing on me and getting the thumbnail previews to work correctly. Then there are the black screens of death I get occationally in my DVD creator, and getting the labels to line up. (It was so bad I used version 7 to make them, and it's not that great either.) Before that was worse. I only resolved most of the other problems by starting over on a fresh installed system without any sonic programs on it. Thanks for the info. If its more stable and reliable then 8 I my consider it.

    I want to know...

Is it worth getting version 9? I'm still waiting for them to fix the issues with version 8. Frankly I'm tired of spending all this money to get products that are not finished. (Not just Roxio either.) Oh well I still have Versions 6 and 7 and they seem to work well still.
