    Adding Music In Timeline

Just to let you know I finally figured out what happened. I decided to start a new production with minimal pictures, added some music of mine and the same thing happened - was loaded in the "edit" Mode. I started looking at the icons above the timeline and clicked on the one that says "edit volume envelope for audio objects" and the music went back to the blue background, out of the edit mode and it plays great. I went back to my original production, clicked on the same icon and now the music loads and plays properly. I have no idea why it would default to the "edit" mode, but from now on I will have to watch and make sure that icon is off. Thank you once again for you help as I love doing this. Mary

    Adding Music In Timeline

Just went back into Videowave and deleted the music and added a song of mine that I have used many times before and it still loads it with the gray background (edit mode) instead of the blue background. So I am guessing it is not the music but the Roxio Program. Would it help to delete the whole program and reinstall??? Don't know what else to try - could the program be damaged??? Thanks again. Mary

    Adding Music In Timeline

The dot is blue, and once the music gets loaded, it plays, both in the MP3 and Wav format. It just seems to be loading it in the "edit" mode with the gray background and it takes forever to do this. Not sure if it is the music or the Roxio program. Will try anything you might suggest. Mary

    Adding Music In Timeline

I am doing a production for a graduation and songs were copied onto a CD from their collection - songs they want added to the production -all in the MP3 format. I went to Sound Editor, saved them in the .wav format and put them in a separate file folder. I have tried this twice and each time I drop it into Videowave in the Music track, it still comes up in the edit mode. (Gray background - green line going thru it.) I just have never had this problem before and not sure what to check or do different. Thank you so much for helping me on this. Mary

    Adding Music In Timeline

It has been a long time since I have had any problems, but all of a sudden things went wrong. When I add music to Videowave in Timeline it comes up in the Music or SFX track with the gray background instead of the blue background. It is like it is in the edit mode. It takes forever to load the music and I can't seem to figure out why it does not load with the blue background. Is there a setting that I am not seeing???? Thanks, Mary

    pdf extension

Thanks so much to both of you for a quick response. The person who scanned the pictures is rescanning them into a jpeg file. I think they accidentally scanned the pictures into a document file the first time. After trying everything we decided to start from scratch. I have never run into that problem before and learned alot last night. Thanks again - I appreciate the help. MK

    pdf extension

I am in a panic. I am hoping someone still reads the the EMC 9 forums. I have pictures on a memory stick and most of them are in an adobe PDF file. Roxio won't recognize them. Anyway to change the extension without scanning them again??? I did put a few of the pictures on my hard drive, just to work with them, but can't get those to show up in Roxio. Opened them up in Adobe, went to "save as", but doesn't give me any option but PDF. Thanks again. MK

I APOLOGIZE, I APOLOGIZE!!!!! Sometimes I feel so old and stupid. I took an old Cd that I had recorded long ago(it is not a Music CD, just a CD-R) and sure enough it plays in the stand alone recorder. When recording discs, I need Music CDs, but it will play both types of CDs. You are a life saver!!!!!!!!! I just assumed - and I will never do that again. Now I can go back and order the Yuden. How do I ever thank you???? MK

My stand alone only plays, records and copies Music CDs. It's a Phillips and we have had it about 4 - 5 years now. I can put 3 Music CDs in it to play consecutively. I can record from a turntable or cassette player to the Phillips. The Phillips will not recognize anything but a Music CD. Having a tough time online trying to find Music CDs, but will plug on. MK

Yes, you are right. Using a PC to burn the CDs, using Roxio to to do all this and very happy with the quality and output of the CDs. Was burning on Memorex Music CDs, but after buffer problems, we ditched them. I happened to have some TDK Music CDs, and right now they are working fine. Can play them in stand alone (which only takes Music CDs) auto, and computer. Hate to switch to regular CDs after all this - couldn't play them on stand alone. Will go back and see if I can find a Music CD from JVC. Just trying to get the best quality Music CD I can get. Will keep digging. If anyone has suggestions, I am willing to listen and learn. Thanks. I believe that is right. I have a stand alone player in my living room, and can copy or record CD to CD, but I have to use "Music CDs". I can't play regular CDs on it. But computers and auto will play both. Not sure what we are going to do now. Too bad Yuden doesn't carry Music CDs, that would solve all my problems. I have really learned alot lately. Thanks again. Thanks once again for all the info and I apologize for taking up so much of your time. Is it necessary to burn these on "Music CDs"? I noticed Taiyo Yuden does not seem to carry them. He has been using "music CDs", thinking the quality might be better. Any truth to that??? Seems everytime I get ready to order, he has another question. Again, thank you. MK

Yes, you are right. Let me explain. I was on his computer, typing as fast as I could as he was pacing behind me. He's one impatient little Irishman. He sprayed a bit of canned air back into the drive with the burner. Then I found some old TDK Music CDs that I must have picked up on sale somewhere. He went back to burning and it worked this time. Not sure if the CDs or cleaning fixed the problem. In the meantime, I have been lookiing on line at the Taiyo Yuden discs. I don't want to appear toooooo dumb, but are the Silver Thermal Lacquer discs the type I need to burn music??? He isn't putting labels or lightscribing, just putting them into plastic cases. Any downsides to the Thermal Lacquer??? Would you believe this is actually HIS hobby? Any help on firmware update is appreciated. Thanks again. MK
