  1. CONTEXT I have purchased upgrades to MyDVD 10 and RecordNow Premier 10 to replace Version 9 of both products. I use MyDVD irregularly but I have some 2-3 weeks of music files (around 500GB) and use various features of RecordNow that are not within MyDVD I install RecordNow successfully and using the installed software I copy a number of m4a files from Itunes to my HTC phone I now install MyDVD 10 successfully which, during the installation blurb, mentioned that it is uninstalling RecordNow When I open MyDVD there are no options to allow me to copy m4a files to my HTC phone When I attempt to re-install RecordNow 10 the installation starts and then completes without installing any software, with no indication as to why I have downloaded the latest software RecordNowMusicLabPremier10.1_FA69AZT1RNP.exe and when the installation asks for the key I enter the key supplied with the original RecordNow Premier 10 and the key is rejected as invalid I have downloaded MyDVD 10.1 and have entered the key supplied when I purchased the MyDVD 10 upgrade and I am being told the key is invalid For both the above products I have checked it is valid to use either the hard copy CD Key or the downloaded product key PROBLEM 1) Why does MyDVD remove RecordNow during installation without regard to the impact on the user? 2) Why I am not allowed to use the functionality of the software I have legally purchased? 3) Why is both MDP & RNP software updates not allowing a valid key to be entered? I look forward to a speedy response

Mydvd & Record Now Version 9

Brendon, It is so refreshing to hear some open, honest and above all simple advice from someone who clearly knows what they are talking about It is a rare thing, thanks It is so silly, even MS has now realised (well almost) the value of being honest as dishonesty always come around and bite you in the b*m It is a bit like buying a car and putting 4 star fuel from supplier YYY in it and the car stops working. The manufacturer says "Oh, you have to take the engine out, remove every trace of the 4 star fuel, and put the engine back in again and then it will work perfectly, and by the way we are not going to tell you which fuel you must not use". If anyone was sold a car that came with that sort of FEATURE all hell would break loose (probably all international hell as well), is this actually any different? D

Mydvd & Record Now Version 9

Brendon, Many thanks for your speedy reply I have downloaded the repairer and even though it gave me an error 2 the Roxio Home page is now visible. You will forgive me if I do not celebrate just yet as I have been here before however; last time it was via the difficult route of a clean re-install Why does Sonic/Roxio not make this readily available when searching in the Knowledge base More importantly why is their software the ONLY software that is effected in this way by registry cleaners. I am sure the registry cleaners do not have a vendette against Roxio (though I nearly did and I could easily sympathise) Surely there is a software bug here that requires fixing as it appears common across a number of products by the number of people viewing/creating posts oin this subject Again - many thanks, here hoping!

Mydvd & Record Now Version 9

Does anyone know what to do when I have paid for software that is constantly telling my I actually have trial software and it has expired? I thought requiring people to pay for something and the providing something that does not work is scamming at least and probably is fraud As you my get I am at the end of my tether with this organisation, I have been a customer for 10 years and finally this is the last straw They insist you pay £1.00 per minute to contact them when THEIR software malfunctions whilst most other reputable software companies provide remote technical support I feel cheated I have paid nearly £100 for software that only works for a few days after I do I complete CLEAN install. Some one please help

Mydvd & Record Now Version 9

Lynn, I have reviewed the System Requirements, via the link you thoughtfully provided, and I see 16 bit colour is suggested. I take from this that the minimum requirement is 16 bit colour and 1024 x 768 or am I mistaken and the software only works with 1024 x 768 set at 16 bit colour? D

Mydvd & Record Now Version 9

Lynn, No I have my screen set to 1400 x 1050 (it is a 19" screen). If the default is 1024 x 768 the worst that should happen is the display should appear to small rather than have the edges chopped off surely?

Mydvd & Record Now Version 9

Beerman, Many thanks for pointing that out however; I have tried your suggestion and it makes no difference. The problem is actually nothing to do with MS Gadgets. When is remove MS Gadgets from my desktop the Roxio Home does not fit in the Window, it is though the area (that would be covered by MS Gadgets if it were being used) gets chopped off the edge rather than resizing the window within the Vista defined screen area It would be far easier to show if I could up load the screen print of the problem Derek

Mydvd & Record Now Version 9

I have Version 9 of both Record Now and MyDVD installed on my PC When I attempt to burn a CD I use the standard Roxio Home interface to the product and select "Create Audio CD for Car or Home CD Player". I have a 19" display using 1400 x 1050 setting at 32 bits etc. I insert the blank CD, select the various tracks I require on the CD and then attempt to press the red button - Whoops the red button is hidden behind the Vista gadgets bar to the right of my screen. I have only one choice, put MyDVD in "minimode" to obtain access to the red button. This is not what I expect from a quality piece of software Anyone see this before and know how to fix it? Regards Derek
