    Colour Distortion

The Roxio's drivers on a XP machine works just the same as in a WIN10 machine along with EVD software in Win10

Insulting people? That exactly how I understood CD's comment to/about me. --

Yes, I understand it now. The picture you have selected for your account tells it all. What is actually the purpose of your presence in this forum?

Did the following today: 1: Installed Roxio video USB drivers onto my old XP machine(Skipped the software itself) 2: Installed AVS Video Recorder software too. 3: Made a connection to the VCR the same way as with the WIN10 machine using the Roxio Video Capture USB device 4: Played the video. No difference. Still color distortion 5: Replaced the Roxio Video Capture USB device with a similar device from Plextor(Pretty old. Not supported longer) 6: Perfect. No color distortion at all. The problem - as I see it - must be either in the Roxio Video Capture USB device or in the Roxio USB video device drivers. --

Page #13 says: Connnect a composite or S-Video cable between the Roxio adapter and Video Out of a VHS player. --- --- --- Note: You must use a SCART Out adaptor to connect to European VHS players I'm in Europe. Born and raised. --

Until today I have connected to the back of the VCR with a scart connector and connected at the other end to the RCA connector, on the USB converter cable. As said earlier ,I tried a new cable today. Scart at the VCR end and S-video at the other end, You know, the end which stick out from the USB cable connector, supplied by Roxio. --

I have plenty of "No Signal" messages too, before sound and picture shows up. The software seems to be slow. Regarding the XP machine I'll try it out later this week. Thank you! --

Maybe, but playing a VHS video to the TV is ok(Same scart connection). Also playing to my old XP machine(Plextor digital converter). And why scart->S-video is worser than scart->RCA is a mysterium. --

Thanks for your reply, but the problem isn't about PAL vs NTSC. It is about colour distortion. Sorry that my bad english has confused you. I searched the page you adviced for the words color/colour, but found no match. --

    Colour Distortion

Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus. Win10Pro i3 processor Intel HD Graphics I have color distortion on the Onscreen monitor/recording window image. Goes for every VHS videos. I played a VHS video in my old WINXP machine using Plextor digital converter, and the picture there is just beautiful. It is actually more clearer and cripsier than on the TV screen. But, but.. I can't record in that software. "Record error" it says. And since my EVD3 license is for one computer, I probably can't install it on the other computer. Have tried other VHS recording software like AVS video recorder, Golden Videos VHS to DVD Converter and Veedub64. No difference. Ran off and bougt me a new cable. Scart connection on the VCR side and S-Video on the USB dongle side. The result was even worse. I'm located in Europe and using the PAL system, though my VCR also handles the NTSC system. Anyone any clue? Thanks for your attention! --

    No Video Signal Revisited

It works now. Did a repair installation. Hope I don't will have to do this too often
  12. Sigh! Yesterday and the day before I recorded/captured a couple of VHS videos. Worked fine. And this morning I continued the work from yesterday, and guess what. "No video signal". Win10Pro and EVD3 Plus.

    No Sound In Playback.

Ooops! I have not played the recording in EVD3 Plus, but I did it just now.And there is sound. You see, I have been using the VCL player for playback and there is no sound there in the playback for exported MPEG2 files in EVD3 Plus. Problem solved!

    No Sound In Playback.

This is the file which EVD3 Plus creates when a VHS video cassette is recorder. MPG
