  1. I always liked GoldWave for audio and VideoMeld for video plus audio in more complex situations.   They are not simple to use but there are a lot of shortcut tools..  They will will give you lots of options to work with if you need them.  . I have never used Audacity so I don't have any knowledge about comparing Audacity Vs GoldWave. I have never used VideoMeld except for short videos.

  2. Sorry EL77 but you are asking some very basic questions relating to basic video editing.  You are overanalyzing the issue.

I hate to do this to you and wouldn't if I could answer all your questions as thoroughly as some other sources.  Go to use Google and/or YouTube for your definitions of things like frame rate AVCHD, etc.

After you have one that, come back and ask your questions again if you still have any.   Post a screen capture of your typical screen or upload it to a sharing site.

My original suggestion is to use what you are starting with -- what your camcorder is set for.   Images taken with your camera should match the DVD resolution (720 by 480). That is for the US (NTSC).  If you are elsewhere, you would use PAL.   If you want higher quality  (AVCHD or blu ray)  you'll need upgraded equipment.

  3. LJ (according to the web)  is a burner program.  I never heard of it either!.

Need - download and install the trial of "REVO Uninstaller Pro.  There is a 2 week trial.  Just have it search for Roxio and it will find what was left behind from the uninstall.  Be careful, there may be other Roxio programs that you may need.

As always, this is a suggestion and you will have to live  with the consequences.  Make a Windows restore point before you start.

Just to make sure, this is not Roxio Tech Support.  It is a users group who have a lot of experience with the programs. but are not otherwise connected to Roxio/Corel.

I am semi literate in computing so i will try to answer what can.  After each update window has deleted or removed files or programs.  My external WD MyBook had  backups deleted from December '2019 to April 2020.  I have conceirge service from Dell that enabled  me to get help restoring some programs.  roxio was one that I had to give my  codes for after each re install.  Mcafee multi access security suite was also disable and had to be reinstalled each time. It was not turned off during updates.

What exactly did you need from Dxdiag file there are a lot of diaglogue boxes with results  all showing no problems found.

    Thanks for your response.

DXdiag.exe allows you to create a txt (text) file when it is run.  Just attach the txt file in your reply.  Remember this is a users group so maybe what I want to see is not what others want to see.

Have you contacted Microsoft about the file being deleted?   I'm sure they would like to know and may already have a solution.

  5. Translated   " I have a CD of the program Roxio Photosuite 5 Platinum Edition with activation key, but the current computer I have does not have DVD, how can I install it?

If I remember correctly, the Platinum Editions were those intended for business use (multiple users).  In that case go to the person responsible for the distribution and ask them for a thumb drive (memory stick) of the program.

Si no recuerdo mal, las Platinum Editions eran las destinadas al uso empresarial (múltiples usuarios).  En ese caso, acuda a la persona responsable de la distribución y pídale una unidad USB (memory stick) del programa.

  6. I have not had to reinstall any Roxio products because of a recent Windows update!  Destroying files?  None.

When this happens did you try to REPAIR the Roxio installation?

Tell us more about what happens.  It would be a big help to post your dxdiag.exe text file )the file, not the individual lines of text)so we can perhaps see what is going on.

Oh, by the way, what antivirus are you using and do you turn it off during the Windows update.

    Thank you sir.

    DxDiag.txt

Don't you ever get rid of old files?  Free space, especially on your system drive may be a problem  You should get rid of the programs/files you don't use anymore.

Take a look at the error messages near the bottom of that txt file.  There are a lot probably related to disc space.  There are also some related to Roxio which may be giving you some of the problems you are experiencing.

Other than that, the computer will run the program.  You may want to look at some of the posts related to multicam editing on the Corel Users group.  Go here and look around.

Have you become an expert in Multi-Camera Editor? I need one! LOL

    Thanks.

Are you just busting ba----s or are you serious?  Tell us about it - what version are you using/  This post is in NXT 5.  Create a new thread and include your version and your dxdiag.exe.   What is your detailed problem or need?

I don't have NXT 5 on my machine only Nxt 7.  Does your multicapture look like this?

  9. It would be a big help if you would post your dxdiag.exe evaluation of your computer.  There is no personal information except he name you gave your computer. It tell us about such things as CPU, Free Space, and most importantly near the end of the text file are some detected error messages that we might be able to eliminate.

Please post only the text file of the results; not the line by line evaluation.  Do not send the results to EA. Just post it here.

Follow the procedure carefully.  Make sure you understand it.

Note, this is a users group so we can't help you with a refund.  If you want to contact Roxio/Corel, go here.

  10. Bit   have you ever tried the Slide Show program in Windows 10?    I have no other suggestions.   Has the client used Roxio programs like Video wave?

Yes, the Corel photo editing program seems to be complex but there are "automatic" settings to make it easier.

Pinnacle has SmartMovie as their slide show offering.

At one time you could download the PhotoShows from the web and save them.  I don't know if that is still available.  As with other software, if Flash goes away, your client will need to get other current software anyway.

Yvette, did you try  FastFlicks or any other video editing program to make your  slide shows?    Google for other software.

Rizzo, get Yvette, BitGuru, his client and a whole lot others to see what can be done to resurrect PhotoShow by contacting Roxio/Corel.  It would have to be a whole new program though.

  11. Does you client still pay for an annual subscription to PhotoShow?   I stopped using it years ago because of all the problems/changes with it.

I'm not even sure that FastFlick is available as a standalone.   it is available as part of NXT7 and may be available as part of a Corel higher priced offerings.  It is doubtful that Corel will try to support 2 slide show programs.  Since YouTube and other free sites are available - with and without security, is there a need for this type of program?

If you have a client, I'm sure that you know the currently available slide show programs - some free.

  12. In Video Wave, switch to storyline view.  Do you see the blank (black ) panels there.  If so, remove them.   If they are supposed to be images that you want, then check the blanks panels for format and other properties.  They may be too large or a wrong format.

If you don't see the black panels,  y ou should be able to guess which one they are in the storyline.  Edit those as necessary.
