  1. Hi, I am the person who had this similar problem. I had similar advise to what you are getting but unfortunately none of the suggestions worked. I got to try a few things myself and fortunately I found one that solved the problem which was more luck than judgement. You can certainly try this and see if it works for you. Let me know either way. When you have got your project together on the burning screen. before you start burning check the following settings. Click on file in the top left hand corner of the screen. Move down the dropdown menu until you come to "Project settings" click on this. A screen will come up that is vertically divided in two. on the lefthand side under the heading "Format" about half way down the screen there are two choices (NTSC)and (PAL) select (PAL) . Having done that now move to the righthand side of the screen. Under the heading "Default encoding setting" Under the subheading "Video" there are again two choices around halfway down the screen (INTERLACE) and (Progressive) Choose Progressive. finally re-set these settings with button at the bottom of the screen. Now I do not know exactly what these setting are for, as I said it was more luck than judgement. The only thing that must have happened is that these setting must have been altered in some way. But it resolved the problem. I hope it works for you.

    Video Copying

Hi, I have one or two pieces of software that is capable of copying video's including Roxio Creator 12. The problem that I having with all of them is as follows. I have several self made DVD'S that I wish to copy and store on my computer as back up just incase my originals get damaged or lost. All of these video's inlude several film clips in form of menu's. The problem that I am experiencing is that when I try to copy them it only copies the first film clip on the video and not all of them. I would be greatful if someone could inform me what I am doing wrong. Thank you.

Unable To Open Roxio Creator 12.

Hi, Thanks very much for your quick reply to my question. I am pleased to report that it appears to have resolved the problem. I dont know why I did not think about taking it back to a restore point before the problem, since I always use this facility when when my computer gets a virus. Thanks very much for your help it is greatly appreciated.
  5. Hi, I am having a problem opening my Roxio Creator 12. Everything had been working fine. Then as I was adding films to my menu before burning. suddenly the whole screen froze. I tried using my task manager to close it down but nothing was happening. Eventually I had to do something that I dont like doing and that was switching my computer off manually. On starting up my computer and clicking on my Roxio Icon an error message appeared saying " Roxio Creator has encountered a problem and needs to close down" I have tried several things to stop this including uninstalling Roxio and then re-installiing it again, but this has made no difference and the same error message keeps popping up when I click on the Roxio Icon. I have tried ruuning my security software just in case there is virus but this has made no difference either. I would like to have copied the contents of the error message and included this in the message but I am afraid I am not sure how this is done if in fact it can be done. Hope you can help. Thank you.
  6. Hi, Just to let you know that I have resolved the problem of the "Burning progress screen half blacked out" by myself. It was all to do with the project settings being set wrong. How it had altered I dont know. But everything is working well now.
  7. Hi, This is the first time that I have used the forum although I have been using creator for a number of years, I have manged, in the past, to sort most problems by myself, but I have not got a clue with regards to this present problem which I have not experienced before. When I start the burning process the burning progress screen than monitors the progress of your video burning is only displaying half the screen, the top half is blacked out and when the burning has finished this situation is re-produced on the DVD. I have canceled the fact that it might be the disc's that I am using. I have also canceled out that it might be my DVD drive since I have managed to burn with another burning software that I have on my computer. I have already received a reply to my problem which is shown below. I have installed XML 4 SP3 but this has made no difference to my problem. The first and third option I will need a little more information on how to perform these tasks. The reason that I am sending this again is I have just realised that the first time I sent this request I posted it under Creator NXT when in actual fact I am using Creator 12. I am not sure what difference this will make if any. Once again I hope you can help with this problem. Thank you Very much Under Tools, Options, Render Using Hardware or Software? Download and install XML 4 SP3 http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en Update your display/video card or chip drivers.
  8. Hi, thanks for getting back to me quickly. I have installed xml4 sp3 as requested but this doese not appear to have made any difference to my problem. On the other two suggestions I would be greatful if you could go in to a bit more detail on how to go about this. I have tried the tool, Options bit but I cannot see anything with regards to hardware/software. And how do I go about updating the video card and chip drivers. Thanks again

Chapter Links Not Correct When Burning DVD

I had exactly the same problem but after trying one or two options I resolved the problem by burning to my DVD on H.Q high quality burn. ie, when the green bar goes right across to the right hand side. Prior to this I was using s.p. I dont know if this will work for you but you can try it with out too much of a hassel. Let me know how you go on. Or if you need more information. Best of Luck.

    Menu Buttons Overlapping

Thanks for your advice this does seems to be my problem. But could you tell me how to fine adjust the position of these buttons only when I click on the rectangle and drag them to move them it appears to only move in large jumps which leaves them a larger distances apart than I really want. I hope you can appreciate what I am trying to say. Thanks again.

    Chapter buttons

I have been trying to burn my project only to be informed that buttons are overlapping. Can someone tell me what this means and more important what to do to put it right. Thank you.
  14. Hi, I have not been using roxio 2010 long and for that reason I have encountered several problems along the way. One of the problems is similar to the one you describe. I completed the project but after I had burned it to dvd the chapters would not highlight when I clicked on them. but eventually I resolved the problem more by luck than judgment. I am not sure if this will work for you but you can at least try. When burning your project to dvd you are given options of quality of burn, i.e, standard play etc. Try selecting the high quality one, thats where the green bar goes right accross. I hope you can understand what I am trying to say, if not then get back to me and I will try again get back to me anyway and let me know if it works. All the best
