First, cleaning proxy files did not solved any problem. I used MyDVD in various previous versions of Roxio without any problem before. I'm not editing photos, videos or sound files. I'm using MyDVD to create productions that includes slideshows from photos and movie files. I have created hundreds of these type of productions with MyDVD for a long time but since I updated to Roxio Creator 2010 I can't use MyDVD. Please refer to Chapter 14 (Creating advanced video discs with menus) of the Roxio Creator 2010 User Guide. Thanks.

All images and music are on my computer internal hard drive. I will clear proxy files and try again with MyDVD. I already created the slide show using VideoWave instead of MyDVD without any problem. Thanks.

Jim, I did the same slideshow with same 90 photos but now without the 3 audio files I used before. With those 3 audio files it took yesterday 9 minutes to save it and today it took 1 minute without audio files. Also I created the same slideshow with 639 photos but this time without audio files. Same results, program MyDVD stop responding when I try to save the presentation or when I try to change the menu with the "Change Menu Style" icon. On previous versions of Roxio, I have done many presentations using more than 600 photos and with audio files with MyDVD without a problem using the same computer. I had defrag HDD, cleaned registry with RegistryBooster, scan for Spyware and Virus, updated all drivers and reinstalled the software for more than 2 months since I upgraded Roxio software and I'm still have the same problem. Thanks.

I'm using music that I ripped from a CD to my HDD. Tonight I will try 90 pic without music but I expect same results.

Jim, I have the same problem with Hardware or Software Rendering using MyDVD. 1 - Add Slideshow (639 photos) 2 - Add Sound (53 minutes of multiple sound files) 3 - Preview - Preview works fast and without problem. Also after I click Finish and click to preview the slideshow it works great including sound. 4 - Either when I try to save it or Change Menu style after I added all 639 photos and sound I have the same problem with Hardware or Software Rendering. When I write a file name and click OK to save it, MyDVD shows program not responding. When I click on Menu Style and select another menu, a small window opens (Changing menu style...) with message "Not Responding". When I the create slideshow with Videowave and use MyDVD it works fast too. Thannks.

My original project was to create a production with MyDVD with three slide shows containing 639, 159 and 115 photos. MyDVD (videowave 12) program always freeze for over 10 hours and I had to shutdown the program. All of the jpg photos are in the same computer internal hard disk. I finally did from Videowave to MyDVD and burned it on one DVD fast and without any problem. I can create and preview the slideshow with MyDVD without a problem but I cannot save it on the internal hard disk in my computer. Try this with MyDVD: 1- Add one slide show with many photos (i.e. 639) and add sound to the production (5 seconds per slide - 53 minutes duration of slideshow). 2- Change production background to Beach (excellent background part of Roxio content). 3- Then use File->Save and type a name for the production file. 4- Click OK Then MyDVD start working with intermittent "program not responding" messages and I waited for many hours and the program never completes. I have done this with previous versions of Roxio using MyDVD with more than 600 files and it worked very fast and excellent. I tried many times doing the same slideshow without sound files and I have the same problem. I hear continuosly the noise of the computer internal hardisk during the execution of the program. I defragmented the hardisk, scanned for virus and spyware and cleaned windows registry. I builded many slideshows for many years with Roxio software with 600 or more photos and no problem. I just builded a slideshow with 639 photos (53 minutes, 5 seconds each), another with 159 photos and another one with 115 photos all in one DVD. I used videowave and saved each slideshow (3 total) as a video file (wmv). Then I used MyDVD and added all 3 video files and burned it on a DVD without any problem. On previous versions of Roxio I did the same thing using MyDVD without any problem. Thanks.

I have shutdown the antivirus and also done everything in the link. Below are the latest test I have been doing today. Today I created slideshows with MyDVD using photos only and no sound. All photos are in the same hard drive folder. Then when I saved in in the computer internal hard drive as a .dmsd file where the photos are located there was no problem for the slideshow with 1, 10 and 100 photos (jpg). The project with 200 photos and no sound it was slow but it completed. Last I created a slide show the same way with no sound file but with 639 photos and so far it has been more than 2 hours and the program is still running with intermitend message "Not Responding". I hear the noise of the hardisk but so far it has not completed. Previously I was saving a slide show with 639 photos and sound files and I left the computer running over 10 hours and it never completed. The program does the "Assembling Production Fast" but the problem is saving to a hard disk. My computer has 2 hard disk with zero defragmentation, no virus or spyware and I have been cleaning the registry everyday without results. I can run any other program in the computer fast but not Roxio MyDVD or videowave when saving it to a hard disk. Thanks.

I have the same problem with MyDVD and Videowave. I created a slide show with photos and sound files in the internal hard drive then when I try to save it on the hard disk, the program became busy for many hours and nothing happened. Last night I did a full virus and spyware scan (nothing found), cleaned windows registry and defragmented C: drive. Then I try to remove Roxio 2010 from the control panel. The setup remove windows remained busy in the same position for 2 hours. After that I shutdown windows and restarted, then I went back to the control panel and I was able to remove Roxio 2010. When I put Roxio CD to install it nothing happened and I found that the CD driver was corrupted during the removal of Roxio 2010. Today I need to fix the problem with the CD driver and reinstall Roxio 2010. Thanks.

Gateway GM56322E Multimedia Powerhous PC, Windows 7, 3GB DDR2 Dual-Channel Memory, NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT Video, 2 x 500 GB SATA II Hard Drives. Everytime I try to save a slideshow with MyDVD or Videowave, the program does nothing for hours. I have turned off Norton Antivirus, repair windows registry, defragmented both internal hard disks, updated all drivers, all mp3 files are not DRM protected files. The only time I was able to save a file with MyDVD was when I saved without pictures and sound files. After so many save failures with MyDVD, last night I created a slideshow with videowave and preview it with excellent video and sound the when I try to save it on a hard disk it failed again just as with MyDVD. I don't have any problem saving all kind of files on my computer with other programs, only problem with MyDVD and Videowave. Tonight I will create a slideshow without music and try to save it. Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. When I try to save the slide show in any of my hard disk, the program freezes. I left the program running overnight and same problem. I have 2 hard disks with more than 200gb free, both has been defragmented. I tried without Norton and most other programs not running but same problem. All drivers are up to date, no virus or spyware and also I clean windows registry every week. All programs runs good on my computer except this one. Windows 7 Home Premium, 3gb memory and excellent video card. I have spend weeks trying to fix this problem including installing the program several times, service pack 2 and other Roxio updates without success. Last night I saved without any pictures and sound and it saved OK. Then I added 100 pictures and sound and it freezes when I try to save it on an internal hard disk. Then I try the other internal hard disk and same problem.

    Slow

I have exactly the same problem. I created a Slide Show using MyDVD. Any time I click File, Save then it takes over 30 minutes to save the slide show with about 200 photos. Also when I try to burn it on a DVD, it stay in the Burn Project Window with 97% Overall Progress for over an hour. Roxio MyDVD software continuosly shows "Not Responding". The only slow program running is Roxio MyDVD, everthing else is fast.
