I am going to give up for now, but if anybody has any news on this, please, please let me know!! I unplugged the Dazzle, I unplugged the web cam, my digital camera, I unplugged it all and Media Import still crashes as soon as I click Video. Could it be a problem with Dell? With Corel? With other software? Could the Roxio software be defective? Please let me know if you have any additional recomendations! Thanks, Iza

oK, I tried the cd/dvd driver again before I clicked Video on the "Media Import" and it steel disappears completely. I also downloaded all the drivers that you (ggrussell) recommended. Now I will restart and hope the "Media Import" works. I'll keep you posted! Iza

I do have Corel Paintshop pro X installed, but no media import app (unless you count WMP10 as it allows ripping of audio CDs). I don't have any external devices such as webcam etc., I only want to import from my DVD drives. Also, I did try a repair from add/remove before updating from build 801 to 805, but that did not fix it, nor did the update. and this is what the link says... PS: After posting this I thought I would try the following: place audio CD in my DVD drive and the movie DVD in my DVD/RW drive. Then I opened media import, clicked on Audio: that offered me a choice of sources and I chose the one with the audio CD. Then I clicked on Video, and now it did not instantly close, but offered the DVD/RW drive as a source and I was able to import and convert a component. Maybe that is a work around..... I clicked on Audio, then on Video and it shut down. So I tried again, I clicked on Audio, then on Photo and it completly froze. It says Not Responding. So I wonder what I am doing wrong. I am having the exact same "crash" problem with Media Import! "whenever I press the the Video button. There are no logs showing any problems on Windows or in EMC. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the application several times. I've tried the email version of their Customer Non-Support and got exactly that ... non-support." ggrussell is already helping me. Even if the Dazzel is unpluged, the "Media Improt" shuts down if I click either video or Photo. It only works for Audio, it gives me the drop down menu and all that. The camera I have is Sony video Hi8, Hndycam ccd-trv58 NTSC 460XDigital Zoom. This is the info from Sony Support Web Page... "Connect your camcorder to your TV with the A/V connection cable supplied with your comcorder to watch the playback picture on the TV screen.... If your TV has an S video jack, connect using an S video cable to obtain high qualiti pcitres. With this connection, you do not need to connect the yellow (video) plug of the A/V connection cable." So I guess from that, I don't need the yellow cord, right? Let mw know what you think!! Thanks, Iza

If I click on Audio I see the drop down menu where I can select Dazzle. If I click on Video the software shuts down, it disappears. 5***My other concern is that the guy at CompUSA gave me a cable for the audio that goes from the video camera to the dazzle device, with two ends only, red and white, no yellow… do I need the yellow? Hi, I am trying to import the video from my Sony Handycam Vision camcorder, I have the wires needed from the camcorder to the Dazzle Video Capture Device. Now what? I go to Media Import, I click on Video and the programs shuts down. What should I do, I don't really understand how to import the video. thanks, Izabara

Thanks for your replies. I still have the following issues: 1) I've uninstalled everything that says Roxio from Add or Remove Programs and I restored the computer to the day before I installed Roxio Creator 8 Deluxe. The problem is that my computer still freezes every now and then. Could it be that the Roxio software corrupted other software? What should I do about this? 2) I took the Roxio software back to Comp USA, but they don't accept software back, so I had to keep it. What steps should I follow to try and have a successful installation? 3) I have Sonic Update Manager, SonicAC3Encoder and SonicMPEGEncoder installed in my computer, should I remove them before I install the Creator 8 software? Would it matter? 4) fyi, the "phone message" was not a message, I talked to a guy and told him my problem with the installation and my computer freezing and all the story and he said that I would need to pay $35dlls for him to speek with me about the issue. He said to go online and open a ticket in ther webpage. Which I did and it's been some days now and I haven't heard back from them. Thank you soooo much!! Iza
