    C2010 Pro Burining Issues

Thanks so much for all the help and suggestions. Customer Care was able to deliver a batch file that performed a clean uninstall and an updated setup.exe file for reinstallation. The clean installation combined with reinstalling from a new user account with adminstrator rights seemed to remedy the problem. Thanks again for all the insight.

    C2010 Pro Burining Issues

I believe you are on to something. The Roxio Burn folder under the App Data, Roaming etc... is empty. How do I go about populating the .ini files correctly? When I go to RoxioBurn.exe, I do see the window like you have provided with the drive checked. I also notice a Burnmanager12_repair log from when I did the repair earlier today. Although the content is foreign to me, is there any information in there that would be useful to provide? Please let me know when you can and thanks for your patience and persistance.

    C2010 Pro Burining Issues

I am able to burn with windows. I am working on a Gateway FX4710 desktop, quad core 2.5 ghz processor and 8 gig of ram. I will try your suggestion and keep you posted on any progress. Thanks. I performed the suggested steps and re-ran SP2 and the video patch update. I still have the same outcome which is the system crashes when invoking "Configure Roxio Burn Desktop App" from the Tools Menu. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    C2010 Pro Burining Issues

Jim, Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the repair feature a couple of different ways. One from the disc and the other from the copy of the disc I had placed on my hard drive when I was having installation issues. Both repairs were performed after I had disabled Norton antivirus, firewall, anti-spam etc... Neither repair solved the problem. After the repairs, I openned C2010 Pro, invoked the Tools option and selected Configure Roxio Burn Desktop App. A C2010 window came on the screen with various options (e.g. restore defaults) for a few seconds and then the program crashed and the computer proceeded to restart. Any additional suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    C2010 Pro Burining Issues

Just wanted to add more information in case it is relevant. I checked the type of burner I have, HL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GH15F_EG00, and checked again for updated firmware drivers. There are none available. I also wanted to make sure that C2010 Pro was recognizing the drive and the drive letter it was assigned in Windows Vista 64. I am fairly confident that C2010 Pro is recognizing the drive since I went to tools and had C2010 open and close the drive tray with no problem. Also, when doing so, it displayed the proper drive letter and the burner listing I provided above. I then proceeding to attempt to "Configure Roxio Burn Desktop App" in the Tools menu. The options menu was on the screen for a few seconds and then the program crashed and the computer went into restart mode. Unfortunately and sadly, again there were no error codes provided. I know this isn't much help, but am trying to provide all the information I can in case any of these symptoms trigger a potential resolve. Thanks in advance for any and all help or advice.

    C2010 Pro Burining Issues

Thanks for the input Brendon. I am using Windows Vista 64 bit and unchecked the Automatically Restart box, as suggested. I attempted to burn with the hopes of getting an error message or code to chase. Unfortunately, even with the box unchecked, the system proceeded to restart when I attempted to burn to disc from C2010 pro. Not sure how to trouble shoot at this point. I tried to update all driver sets for my hardware, but all was up to date. Any other thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    C2010 Pro Burining Issues

I have a working version of C2010 Pro on my computer, but have a persistent issue I cannot seem to remedy. When I go to burn from any of the C2010 Pro applications (e.g. slide show, copy disc to disc, create data disc, create MP3 disc), I run into the same issue. When I reach the point to perform the actual burn, C2010 Pro crashes and sends the computer into a restart. I have tried to remedy by uninstalling and performing a clean installation a number of times. I have checked that I meet the minimum system requirements. I have tried in My DVD to switch from hardware to software rendering. I have loaded service pack 2 and a recent patch for c2010 pro. None of these actions have resolved the issue. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Fundamental Problem With Roxio?

Thanks for the insight. It sounds as if I decide to jump ship, I might be going from the frying pan into the fire. I will consider that carefully before I take any action. For now since Roxio is a sunk cost, I will keep using the forum to work through my particular computing issues. Thanks again.
  9. Am I the only one wondering that if Roxio is such a superior product that there is a fundamental problem with the fact that the software requires a user forum to discuss and solve a myriad of problems? I realize that when working properly, Roxio is a very powerful tool. However, it seems that the program is not very forgiving on installs, working with varying operating systems and seems to be sensitive to hardware configurations. This is my fourth version of Roxio and I keep hoping that the next version will be the silver bullet, but each time I am sadly dissappointed. Thank God for the user forum and the fact I started invoking it. None of the canned suggestions that have come from customer support have been helpful. At least I get traction with the user forum suggestions, but my problems still are not resolved. I have lost significant faith in Roxio and am going to start researching other competitor's software as an althernative. Do any others feel the same way and if so what other programs have you explored or contemplated.

    Slide Show Burning Issue

I appreciate the input. I did create a slide show in VideoWave. Output the finished product to MyDVD for burning. However, I ended up with the same result. P.S. Tried another clean install as Roxio Customer Support recommended, but ended with the same result using the slide show tool that cut over to MyDVD for menu creation and burning. Once again, when I hit the burn button, the program crashes and sends the computer into a reboot.

    Slide Show Burning Issue

I have been using the slide show wizzard in C2010. The run time on the slideshow is 3:35 minutes. The video card is an Nvidia 9800 GT.

    Slide Show Burning Issue

When I use the slide show feature and go to burn, I am taken to My DVD. After previewing the menu and slideshow I am prepared to burn to a disk. When I hit the large burn button, the program crashes. Creator 2010 Pro shuts down, the computer exits Windows Vista 64 bit and then proceeds to re-boot. I have tried twice, thinking the first time was a fluke, with the same outcome. Any insight or suggestions would be greatly welcomed. Thanks in advance for your input.
  14. That solved the loading issue. Thank you. Another issue has come up in its place. Created a slide show and when I went to burn the finished product, hit the burn button, Roxio shut down and the computer rebooted. Any ideas?
