  1. I am running Creator 2012 on a windows 7 64 bit machine. Video wave has suddenly started to shut down. I recorded some stuff from a TV program using my DVR. I captured the file to my computer and opened it with videowave, edited it, and saved it as a MPG file When I open that fie with videowave and try to make any edits to it, videowave stops working. This is a new problem. I shut everything down and restarted the computer but, that didn't help. What's my next step? Thanks. Jim B.

    Creator 2012 Stops Working

My "DVR" actually records the stuff onto a DVD+RW disc. Wouldn't using repair after Revo be more like stop leak after overhaul? I ran a repair and still had the problem but it only seemed to occur on one particular MPG file. There are 4 others all generated the same way that don't cause the crash. Go figure... BTW does this board have a spell checker and how do you turn it on? I have "check spelling" checked in the right click menu but it doen't seem to be working.

    Creator 2012 Stops Working

Thanks jim. in another post, (http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/83552-roxio-creater-has-stopped-working/), you suggested running the Revo uninstaller. Do you think I should do this if repair doesn't work?
  4. I am converting videos on HI8 tapes using a Startech SVID2USB2 capture device with Creator 2012. The capture device shows up on the caprure screen as a "USB 2821 Device". I can capture videos in the DV or DVD-HQ modes but attempting to capture in the DVD-SP or DVD-LP modes results in a "unknown capture error". Can some one shed some light as to why this is happening? Thanks. Jim B.

No. I described what I have in my original post.

    Unknown Capture Error

Thanks, jim, for your usual helpful reply. I contacted Startech and was told to use the software that came with the device. I hadn't installed it because I thought Creator 2012 would handle the job. I installed their software (GraBeeX Delux) and it worked perfectly. It's also simpler and much more user friendly then the Roxio product. Jim
  8. I have a 1 hour long video recording that I imported into Videowave. The video lags behind the audio by about 1/2 second. This does not happen if I play the disk on the recorder or my computer using Win media player or VLC media player. I can also play the VOB files on the disk without this problem. The nearest thing I can find in Videowave help to fix this is something called "fit video & audio" but this is grayed out in my production and I'm not sure what it does. How do I fix this sync problem? Thanks, Jim

    Video, Audio Synchronization

Uninstalling and reinstalling Roxi per the above plan did not work.

    Video, Audio Synchronization

No matter what procedure I use to get files into videowave, I have the same problem. What is strange is that, of the 3 VOB's on the disk, only one is 6 1/2 seconds out of sync. I have resolved to uninstall Roxio, Take every instance of it that's left in the registry out, Go through all the pre-installation guidelines on this site, and reinstall Creator 12.

    Video, Audio Synchronization

I've defraged using Auslogics, didn't help Disabling Antivirus didn't help I imported using the import/capture button in videowave How do i find (edit video - advanced)? More information: I've copied the 3 VOB files from the disk to my computer and renamed them to MPG's. 2 of them play fine in videowave. The third one is 6 1/2 seconds out of sync! I'm mystified.
  12. I'll be editing a video and every so often I'll get the above message with the two choices to end the program or check for a solution (which has never found any help). This happens randomly and during no particular editing function. Just, suddenly, crash. I can't pinpoint the exact time this occurs. I'm generally working on 1 hour (very occasionally 2 hours) long videos and, sometimes, I edit my stuff and burn ISO files and export as MPEG files in one session with no problem. Need some direction Jim B.
  13. I usually make a folder for the production and everything related to it goes in there. I forget to save as often as I should. I'm going to see if there's an autosave setting in videowave.
  14. If anyone can answer that, It would be real handy!
  15. I have a DVD with a recorded TV program about 2 hrs long on it. I can play it using any player on my computer. The disk appears to have the proper folders and files on it. If I attempt to import the video using videowave, I get a blank screen where the recording normally appears. The import window shows the proper id for the DVD drive. I've imported many file of this type and never had any trouble. Whats wrong? Thanks, Jim B.

    Media Import Doesn't Work

Thanks. I wonder why they do that.
  18. I have a mpeg file of my own making. The audio portion is about a half second ahead of the the video portion. Can this be corrected using videowave? The recording on the disk from which this file was made is perfectly synced. Thanks, Jim

    Video, Audio Synchronization

Recorded TV program on a DVD+RW disk. Imported it into videowave, Chopped out the commercials and exported it to a MPEG-2 file best quality. The audio starts out out of sync and stays that way throughout the video. These are not DVR-MS files. I read the captured video hints.I don't think what I'm doing could be considered capturing since I'm not using any capture device. I did have some stuff running in the background and will turn off as much as I can in the future. Understand, this is the first and only time this has happened. The file is still on my computer but, the last time I defraged a hard drive, it screwed up a bunch of settings and took me a couple of hours to fix Since the video on the disk used to record the program plays OK, I think I'm going to try the whole procedure again. I'll report back when done. Jim

    Media Import Doesn't Work

Thanks. I've seen that page, but I only use +RW disks. Copying the TS folder is something I will try. My recorder doesn't have a tuner. Need a cable box to get the higher channels. Since you are familiar with this brand, Can you tell me why, when I record a 1-1/2 hr. program, the recorder splits it into 4 VOB files?

    Media Import Doesn't Work

There is no VR folder. There are Video_RM and Video_TS folders and in them are BUP, DAT, IFO, and VOB files. The properties of the disk state that the file system is UDF. The manual for the recorder states that it is not necessary to finalize DVD+RW disks (which is what I'm using) and When I followed the instructions to finalize a disk, finalize was blanked out. There are instructions to "make recording compatible" which say "use this feature to make unfinalized +VR disks recorded on other units recordable on this unit. This will change the title list on those disks to the style that's used by my recorder when additional recordings are made to that disk with my recorder. I think I understand what this means but am not going to worry about it because I don't think it applies to me. BTW My recorder is a Magnavox ZC320MW8B/F7 if that means anything. Anyway, the original problem still exists but I have a work around. Jim

    Media Import Doesn't Work

Thanks. Copying and renaming the vob files is what I did and it worked. Hoe do I determine the format? Jim
