I'm patient. I can wait an hour or two...

Still No Upgrade to Deluxe Suite

Is there any sort of update on how close we are on this being released? Brian Palmer

Still No Upgrade to Deluxe Suite

Thanks for the update. I think this is the main point. It's not really a problem that the upgrade hasn't come out yet as much as it is that we hadn't seen any communication on what was going on. So again, thanks for updating us!!! It is much appreciated. Just my 2 cents anyway. So... when.... Just kidding Brian Palmer

    Tivotogo Playback Password Endless Loop

patatrox, Do you know if there will be a fix for this issue? My feeling is that if this package is to be compatible with TIVO files, Roxwatch should be included. Just my 2 cents Brian Palmer

    Quality Of Tivo Dvds

jethrodesign, Sorry it's taken me sooooooo long to reply as I have not visited the forum lately. I haven't done too many DVDs yet with Tivo files (only about 5). Usually I am creating DVDs that are close to 2 hours and I let MyDVD pick the bit rate and such. The quality is usually decent mind you. I start off with Tivo files that were recorded with either Good or Best quality. I let Roxio do the conversion to DVD format. My DVD player is progressive scan but my TV will not handle progressive scan output so I do not turn on the progressive scan output on the DVD player. Don't know if this matters or not. Hope this helps a bit. Brian Palmer

    Tivo Problems.... An Answer Found

Good Morning Hal, You will need to use the MyDVD section to create a DVD using your .tivo file. Disk Copier cannot copy a TiVo file to a DVD. You can also use Video Wave to edit out the commercial although this is a rather time consuming task with TiVo files. Just keep in mind that TiVo files may take a few minutes to open due to TiVo's digital rights management. If you are unfamilier with the MyDVD and Video Wave sections, take a quick look at the help to get a good overview on how they work! Good Luck and have fun!!! Brian Palmer

    Emc 8 Options

I'm guessing that the version I bought off Roxio's Web site back in October is the Suite and not the Essential version, am I correct? I only ask due to the number of items that are greyed out in the MyDVD section (may be unrelated I guess). Thanks. Brian Palmer

    What Does Vcgproxyfilemanager.exe Do?

Well, I think I found out what VCGPROXYFILEMANAGER.EXE does. Looks like this file writes out the audio portion of the video(s) used in the current project, including the menu audio. I found that when VCGPROXYFILEMANAGER.EXE would start to peg the processor that an audio file was being written, in this case, [tv show name.tivo.wav]. I'm not at my home computer but here is the location as best I can remember: C:\documents and settings\[user name]\application data\roxio\videoui\proxy I will correct the path later when I get a chance or if somebody includes it in their post Brian Palmer

    What Does Vcgproxyfilemanager.exe Do?

I'm curious about this as well. I have been trying to work with some larger Tivo files myself (about 3GB in size). MyDVD and Videowave get hung up often on these files and Vcgproxyfilemanager.exe is just chugging away. It would be nice to know what's going on or have some indicator that something is going on rather than just the HD light constantly going. Brian Palmer

    Video Flickers

Hello agrilia, I believe I was having a similar issue with my video as you are. Movement seemed to look very jittery. I hope this is what you meant by flicker. Anyway, In MyDvd, I clicked on the File drop down menu and selected project properties (I think that's what it's called as I am at work and don't have the software in front of me). In the properties window that pops up there is a setting half way down on the right hand side that allows you to choose Interlaced or Progressive. On a whim last night I chose Progressive instead of Interlaced and re-burned my DVD. This cleared up my problem. Hope it helps you as well. Brian Palmer
  12. Hello All, I think I found a fix for my video problems. In MyDvd, I clicked on the File drop down menu and selected project properties (I think that's what it's called as I am at work and don't have the software in front of me). In the properties window that pops up there is a setting half way down on the right hand side that allows you to choose Interlaced or Progressive. On a whim last night I chose Progressive instead of Interlaced and re-burned my DVD. This cleared up my problem. What seems to confuse me (not always hard to do ) is that we have a 10 year old 54" RCA rear projection TV that is most definitely interlaced. I'm not totally clear on the Interlaced and Progressive settings in the Project Properties window as they are not included in the Help (as far as I could see anyway). I'm guessing that the DVD player converts the signal back to an interlaced signal for playback on the TV. Brian Palmer

Is There A Way To Rotate Video.

sknis, I was finally able to try this last night and it worked beautifully!!! Thanks sooooooo much!!! Brian Palmer
  14. Does anybody know what the differences are between EMC8's version of MyDvd and the standalone Sonic product MyDvd? Seems that the version included in EMC8 has many useful features disabled. I purchased EMC8 almost 2 months ago and am now just starting to use it for Tivo2Go transfers and family videos. I'm now wondering if the standalone version wouldn't have served me better. ....or are we going to get access to those currently disabled features. (Note that I am using the downloaded version of EMC8 and don't have the CTRL+R option). Thanks all Brian Palmer
